Foreword
Are you interested in pursuing undergraduate law programmes from Telanga-
na State? You can apply for as many as 4090 UG law seats in various law col-
leges of the Telangana State through TS LAWCET.

TS LAWCET, organized by Telangana State Council of Higher Education


(TSCHE) is a state level law entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate
law programmes including three-year and five-year integrated LL.B.

‘All about TS LAWCET’ E-book compiled and designed by Careers360 provides


you an overview of the law entrance exam including syllabus and paper pat-
tern besides the number of seats offered in various law colleges of the state.

TS LAWCET- An Introduction

T
elangana State Law Common Entrance Test (TS LAWCET) is organ-
ized by Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), every
year for admissions to three-year and five year–integrated law pro-
grammes in Universities and their affiliated colleges of the Telangana State.

Kakatiya University on behalf of TSCHE announces admission notification


for UG law programmes in the month of March as the applications forms are
also invited in the same month.

The TS Law Entrance Exam is an offline test which comprises objective type
questions (multiple choice) covering various subjects of 10+2 standard for five
year–integrated LL.B and graduate level for the three –year LL.B degree pro-
grammes.

Admissions are offered to as many as 4090 seats including three-year LL.B


and five-year integrated LL.B programmes.

TS LAWCET Eligibility
Academic Qualification
5-Year Integrated Law programmes –
You need to have qualified HSC/Intermediate/ or equivalent exam securing
at least 45% marks of the subjects, if belonging to General category. If you
belong to SC/ST categories then, you must have scored at least 40% marks in
aggregate of the subjects.

3-Year LLB programmes –


You must hold a Graduation degree (10+2+3 pattern) securing a minimum of
45% marks in aggregate of the qualifying subjects. A relaxation of 5% marks is
granted for those belonging to SC/ST categories i.e., you need to have secured
40% marks in aggregate of the subjects.

Age Bar
As per the Bar Council of India (BCI) and Telangana State regulations, you
need to have attained at least 20 years (22 years for SC/ST categories), if ap-
plying for five-year integrated LL.B programmes and 30 years (35 years for SC/
ST categories) for the three-year LL.B programmes, as on December 31 of the
year of admission.

Other conditions for TS LAWCET


The candidates who are appearing in the qualifying exam (both 10+2 and
degree level) are also eligible to appear, provided they satisfy the minimum
marks required for the qualifying exam.

Those candidates who have secured less than 45% marks in Graduation
need to provide any additional Graduate or Post Graduate degree with 45%
marks which they possess as a qualifying degree.

TS LAWCET Application
Process

K
akatiya University on behalf of TSCHE shall be inviting applications
for the UG law entrance exam in online mode in the second week of
March. If you wish to appear for TS Law Entrance Exam, you need to
remit the application fee at first.

You will be provided a Login ID and Password after remittance of applica-


tion fee, using which you need to apply for TS LAWCET.

Remittance of Application Fees


You need to remit an application fee of Rs. 350 for general and Rs. 250 if you
belong to SC/ST category. The application fee can be remitted in online mode
using TS Online/ E- Seva/ MEE- Seva centers or Credit Card/Debit Card/Net
Banking facilities.

How can I fill Application Form?


Once you have remitted the application fee for TS LAWCET, you can proceed
to the application process of the law entrance. You need to follow below men-
tioned step-by step procedure –
zzClick on the official link of TS LAWCET Application Form
zzEnter the basic details including your name, parents’ name and date of
birth
zzAlso provide your academic qualification details including HSC/10th marks
zzUpload your recent passport size photograph as well as signature
zzYou need to choose the exam centre location as per your convenience
zzYou need to preview the filled-in TS LAWCET application form
zzAfter that you need to ‘Save and Submit’ for submitting the application
form

TSCHE directs not to send any application to the official address by post,
however, the same needs to be submitted in online mode only after filling the
application form.

TS LAWCET Exam Pattern


Exam Mode – Offline/ Paper-Pen based Test

Exam Duration – 1 hour 30 min (90 Minutes)

Number of Questions – 120 objective-type questions

Total Marks – 120

Marking Scheme – There shall be objective type questions having four op-
tions each. One mark shall be awarded for each correct answer and there will
be no negative marking in case of incorrect responses.

If you respond with more than one option then it will be considered wrong
and also no mark shall be awarded for question not attempted.

Subjects – The question paper shall be divided into three parts – General
Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for Study of Law.

TS LAWCET Syllabus
General Knowledge and Mental Ability – The questions in this section will
be based on general awareness and brainstorming. Most of the ques-
tions will be of generic standard. Also it may include questions based on Eng-
lish Grammar and Comprehensions to test basic knowledge of reading and
writing skills of the candidate required for the LL.B programmes.

Current Affairs – This section will include questions from the latest happen-
ings of national and international level. This section will test the universal
developments awareness in candidates.

Aptitude for Study of Law – The section will be based on elementary knowl-
edge of basic principles of Law and Constitution of India only. In order to test
your interest towards the LL.B programmes, it shall have questions on some
of the commonly used legal terms.

TS LAWCET Timeline

SCHE issues notification for the law entrance exam in the second
week of March as the application begins from the next week.

Kakatiya University issues E-Hall Tickets in the third week of May,


which can be downloaded by providing your Application Number and Date of
Birth, as the offline exam shall be conducted in the fourth week of May.

The Results for TS LAWCET is announced in the second week of June. The
counselling for three-year and five-year integrated LLB admissions in various
law colleges of Telangana State begins from second week of September and
ends by the third week of October.

TS LAWCET Admission
Counselling

T
SCHE shall be organizing TS LAWCET Counselling between the sec-
ond week of September and third week of October of the admission
year in online mode.

You need to register for web counselling as well as get your original docu-
ments verified at the designated centres. The web option entry for TS LAW-
CET counselling includes selection of college preference and provisional seat
allotment after which you need to visit in person at the allotted college and
remit the admission and tuition fee.

zzTSCHE shall issue the notification for the TS LAWCET Counselling in on-
line mode
zzYou need to exercise options for first phase Counselling after which the
provisional seat allotment list is released
zzYou need to provide a verified mobile number for communication via SMS

related to seat allotment

zzYou can get seat allotment letter printed out for future references
zzYou can participate in second phase of counselling, in case you have not
reported at the allotted colleges in the first phase of allotment
zzIn such cases candidates have to mark web options entry again for the next

allotment
zzSecond phase allotment is the final list and the candidates are advised to
report the allotted colleges before the last date

nal as well as photocopies of each while visiting the designated centres for
verification of documents and registration for web counselling.
