Digital Photo Editing:


There are many different businesses around today where digital photo editing can be useful.
Even if your career doesn’t require this skill, it’s still good to know how to edit a photo to either
make it look nicer or more professional. You never know when you might need to send in a
photo to a possible career or someone else who needs it.

Graphic Design:
Especially if you are starting your own business or just trying to make your current business
more recognizable, it’s very useful to be able to create a graphic that represents you. Good
graphic design skills can be the difference between a logo that stands out and a logo that gets
ignored and forgotten. Anything to help you get ahead of the competition and help yourself
expand and grow.

Web 2.0 Animation:


Animations are great for presentations and for teaching to an audience that may otherwise not
be very interested. Things like PowerPoint can be dull to some people and an animation is a
great way to keep your audience engaged while also allowing yourself to be creative. There are
endless possibilities for an animation, and they can help make any dull topic more exciting.
Whether it’s for a presentation to a class or to a business, an animation is a great way to make
things easier to understand or easier to follow.

Google Drive Page:


Google drive is a great new tool that’s available to everyone. It makes it much safer to store
your files and allows you to share them with ease. Additionally, it makes it very easy to
collaborate with others whether they be classmates, colleagues, or people from other
companies. Google Drive allows seamless and spontaneous collaboration and being fluent in
how to use it is a great skill to have going into a future career.

Google Form:
Surveys are great for gathering information and data from any type of audience you want.
Google Forms provides a very easy and fast way to create any kind of survey you want. It’s a
great skill to have regardless of what career you go into because data is invaluable and knowing
how to collect the right data and how to collect it efficiently is a great skill to have and one that
employers will be very fond of.

Infographic:
Infographics are a great way to creatively present yourself, data, or any other topic. Since they
allow graphs, photos, text, and a variety of other tools, it’s a great skill to have that will put you
ahead of others who only have PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools to put together a
presentation.

Screencast Video and Screenshot:


Creating a video of what you are doing on screen can be very difficult. It may require a ton of
different equipment and tools to put a decent project together. However, screen casting, both
for videos and photos, make it super easy to make a video about anything that you are doing on
screen and make’s it super easy to record your voice over it as well. It’s a useful tool to have if
you want to teach or show people a topic in real time.

Emerging Technologies:
Currently, there are countless technologies growing and evolving and it’s very important to
keep yourself updated on as much of it as you can. It can be useful to use some of these up and
coming technologies to make your company or business more efficient and maybe more cost
efficient as well.

Digital Storytelling:
Like editing images, and screen casting, being able to plan a video and edit it together is a great
skill to have for a variety of reason. Whether it’s for a presentation, teaching yourself
something, teaching others, or really anything else, it’s very important to know how to put a
video together. You may not think your career will require you to put a video together, but you
may be surprised and it’s important that you’re ready for that task.

Cover Letter and Resume:


When it comes to getting your foot in the door to a new career, a Cover Letter and Resume are
probably the most important tools at your disposal. Being able to present yourself to a
company and being able to tell them how you will be a valued member of their team is a great
skill to have and will easily put you above the competition that is weaker in this area. Even after
you get yourself into a career, it’s important to keep your resume up to date in case you need
to find a different career.

Coding:
Coding is a skill that’s been rapidly growing over the last 50 years and continues to grow. Nearly
every company needs coders and it also usually pays well. Also, coding can be useful if you are
using it just for yourself. There are endless possibilities with code and since it’s constantly
changing and growing, it’s important to get into it sooner rather than later so you can evolve
and change with it.
