I’m writing to you because I’m interested in applying for your open seventh grade girls’ basketball
developmental coaching position as posted on the careers page of Manheim Central School website.
I’m currently earning my degree in educational studies from Arizona State University and have
eleven years of coaching experience in different areas of employment.

I have the confidence to be an immediate asset to the coaching staff at Manheim Central. I like being
accountable for having responsibilities of not only training in strengthening the basic skills of
basketball but managing the entire process to make the athletes experience a success. My coaching
experience in basketball at the boys seventh and eighth grade level has allowed me to implement
practice strategies to effectively condition skills and technique to the overall game plan. My years in
the military coaching soldiers on the characteristics of discipline, integrity, and focus on completing
task will carry over to be instill in each athlete to achieve goals set for the year. Finally, I’ve coached
new operators in the manufacturing field in developing patience and being detail oriented which
transitions to coaching basketball with overcoming obstacles and adapting effectively.
