Job Description:
Assess and triage patients according to severity of signs and symptoms presented to E.R.
Give initial nursing care and treatment for them.
Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Nursing care rendered
to a group of assigned patients.
Attending emergency cases, out patient, minor surgery cases, & assisting in deliveries
Observes, assesses, reports and records symptoms and conditions of patients.
Assists the doctor and nursing staff during the treatments and examination of the patient.
Accompanies patients to various departments as assigned.
Provides guidance and orientation to healthcare assistants, health attendants and trainee
nurses.
Provides comfortable, safe and clean environment for the patients.
Demonstration of good interpersonal relations with the public and staff.
Carry out pre and post operative nursing care for minor and major surgeries
Providing bedside care, taking of vital signs, monitoring vital signs and I & O, preparing
and administering oral medication, parenteral and intravenous therapy, appropriate
documentation.
Teach patients, watchers and members of the family activities of daily living – how the
patients could be independent in these aspects and how the family members could assist
them at home.
Establish rapport with the patients and relatives. Prepare both of them psychologically in
