Woori Academy started in the year 2017, a tutorial center offering different programs
that will ensure each student’s improvement. We offer total school care system, from
Kindergarten to High School. From the implementation of the K-12 Curriculum, Woori
Academy has been devoted in giving out exemplary academic support to foster academic
success and achievement of its young learners.

Introduction Cebu International School is a private secular institution
offering a Preschool to Grade 12 international education. CIS is
non-stock, non-profit, self-sustaining corporation governed by a
Board of Trustees elected from the parent body.

“The school aims to develop well-balanced global citizens who

are intelligent, environmentally concerned and respectful of
universal moral values within the multinational environment of
an ever changing interdependent world.”

Cebu International School was founded in 1924 as the Cebu

American School and grew from a multi-level tutorial 5-room
schoolhouse to a complete K through 12 school by 1986.
Generally international in curriculum, CIS is a day school
which uses English as the language of instruction and follows a
calendar year from August to May.

Cebu International School obtained authorization to implement

the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) in
October 1999, and the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in
2014.

In February of 2003, the school was pleased to be awarded

Republic Act 9190 from the Philippines Government giving
CIS full recognition as an educational institution, international
in character. CIS is the only school in the Visayas region with
 this recognition.

Republic Act 9190 further resulted in the revision of the

school’s By-laws. The essence of the revision was that the
school is now governed by an elected ten member Board of
Trustees selected from within the school’s international parent
community.

Cebu International School is proud to be accredited by the

Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). CIS has
maintained international accreditation with the Western
Association of Schools and Colleges since 1996.

Cebu International has been a member of the Council of

International Schools (CIS) since 1998 and attained
international accreditation since May 2008.

We are also proud to be accredited by the Philippine

Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities
(PAASCU).

The fact that Cebu International School is the only school in the
Philippines that is accredited with all three organizations of CIS
(Council of International Schools), WASC (Western Association
of Schools and Colleges) and PAASCU (Philippines
Accrediting Association of Schools Colleges and Universities)
means that we hold a unique position within the spectrum of
education offerings in the Philippines.

The school serves a broad based community that includes both

Filipino citizens and expatriates who wish to have their children
pursue tertiary studies either locally or abroad.

How to study In order to complete your child’s successful application, the
following documents are required:
• Completed Student Enrollment Form with one 2x2inch
 photo
• Copy of the child’s Birth Certificate
• Passport copies of child and parents showing the photo
page and page stamped with the latest arrival date in the
Philippines
• For foreign students, copy of the appropriate VISA and
ACR if available
• Latest report card or school record
• Recommendation from current/previous school
Principal or Counselor (forms provided)
• Affidavit of Guardianship, if necessary
• Medical Form(s)
• Immunization Record(s)
• Driver/Nanny ID Application (if applicable)
• A non-refundable application fee of P4,000
• To guarantee a space, families need to pay a
nonrefundable deposit of P40,000, which will be
deducted from the total fees payable upon enrollment

The International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme
(PYP) is a curriculum framework designed for young learners
(ages 3-12) in international schools. Over 250 schools
worldwide currently use this program, which is sponsored and
funded by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).

From Grade 6-10, they also follow a curriculum that is

informed by the principles of the International Baccalaureate
with students exemplifying attributes of the IB Learner Profile.

From Grade 11-12, Cebu International School has been

authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme since 1999. The
IB Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year program of
international education. It is a comprehensive and challenging
pre-university course of study, leading to examinations, that
demands the best from motivated students and teachers. It is
widely recognized for its high academic standards.
