Background of the Study

Introduction

A Shopping mall, shopping center or shopping precinct is

one or more buildings forming a complex of shops representing

merchandiser. It is a source of of interconnecting for enabling

visitors to easily walk from unit to unit.

Nowadays establishing malls near the school may come up the

interest and attention of the student to spend their leisure time

inside the shopping mall ,instead of studying, they choose to

spend their time around the mall with their friends, this is most

likely to happen during their free time. Some of students

consider a shopping mall as their place where they can enjoy

looking for different kind of products.

On the other hand, most likely to go a shopping mall 24/7

more than in the school. The less precious time they have for

their other responsibility, study and travelling for instance

student have no time for other activities but a great amount of

time and money they can spend on shopping mall.

Another reason why mall is too much attractive to the

Filipinos specially to the students because going to mall is one

of the traditions of the Filipinos here. Spending their time with

their family. They go the mall to buy new things they wanted.

Things that can make them happy.

 It is more sensible for the student so spend their time for

their family and study rather than wasting time going to malls.

It is much better they those time spend inside the shopping mall

must be the time for them to study and discover their talents and

abilities for them to have a good future .

In a conclusions ,instead of wasting time in things that

may affect negatively specially for students ,it so more

acceptable if time will be spent on the study, discovering new

things ,improving talents and hardworking for the future.

Studying hard will make parent’s sacrifices will be worth it.

Significance of the Study

The researcher conducted this study to know the effects of

establishing malls to the grade 10 students of OMNHS. This study

will determine the negative and positive sentiment from the

respondents. Since they have a big contribution for the mall’s

objective to be fulfilled.

The students will be informed about on how they will

control themselves going to the malls instead of studying then

their study will not be affected.

Students. This study will help them to maintain their time in

terms of wrench and schooling as well as they will have to

measure their money and to be a responsible one.

Researcher. As an ABM student ,this study will bring them the

insight about how establishing malls really affects the students

near with it. Then they will have a choice weather to construct a

mall near at school or not.

Business/Mall owner. This study will help them if they will

consider to those who goes inside mall.

Statement of the Problem

This study attempts to determine the reactions and effects

of establishing mall near the school to the grade 10 students of

OMNHS more significally the following questions will be answer?

1. What are the reactions and affects of establishing mall near

the school to the grade 10 students?

2. What will be the possible effects of establishing malls to the

respondents?

3. What will be the effects of malls in the performance and

grades of grade 10 students of OMNHS?

4. How can a mall help the students?

5. What are the possible actions of the respondents?

Definition of terms
ABM – Accountancy ,Business and Management (ABM)strand that

focus on basic concept of financial management, business

management ,corporate operations and all things that are counted

for.

Merchandiser – Goods that are bought and sold (time).

Mall – A large building or group of buildings containing stores

of many different kinds and sizes.

- A public area where people walk

Errancy-The state or an instance of erring

Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on the reactions and effect of

establishing mall near the school to the Grade 10 students of

OMNHS.

This study which consist of 10 respondents of Oriental

Mindoro National High School , Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro and

its conducted during the second semester of school year 2017-

2018.This group of respondents and not voluntarily picked by the

researchers. They are randomly selected based on who are usually

going to mall during school days.

Questionnaires are finally conducted and already done. The

result of the study shown the reactions and effects of

establishing malls near the school to the grade 10 students of

OMNHS.
