COMMENTS ON VALVE DRAWINGS OF STAGE-IIA

EOPD VALVE
GENERAL:

1.Actuator sizing /selection calculations shall also be furnished- Attached Valve torque &
actuator selection details

2.Foundation loading calculations shall also be furnished- Attached

3.As bypass valve is not being provided it shall be confirmed that the valve is capable of opening
under 100% differential pressure. (it shall be mentioned in the Data sheet) -Noted and
confirmed

DATA SHEET:

1.In project Name WEST shall be removed, it shall be “ CHINTALAPUDI LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME
(PACKAGE4) – STAGE-IIA”.- Noted

2.In operation “2NA + 2NC” Limit and Torque switches shall be changed as “2NO + 2NC” Limit
and Torque switches- Noted

3.Under conditions it is mentioned as Leakage class –VI – which is allowable with leakage, Where
as specification calls for tight shutoff i.e., No leakage allowed. Hence same shall be modified
accordingly- Noted and confirmed

4.Seat Test pressure shall be 110% i.e., 17.6 kg/cm2 instead of 16kg/cm2. Hence same shall be
modified accordingly. -Noted and confirmed

VALVE GA

1.In title sheet it is mentioned as Uni-directional valve, where as in the Data sheet it is
mentioned as Bi-directional valve. Hence shall be corrected as per actual direction in either of
one location (either in Data sheet or in GA drawing). If the valve is of Uni-directional, then
direction of flow shall also be in scripted on the valve body. - Noted, valve is uni directional only

2.Seat Test pressure shall also be corrected as 17.6kg/cm2 instead of 16.- Noted, confirmed with
17.6Kg/Cm2

3.As per Data sheet and specification Material for Drive and Stub shaft shall be AISI431 Where as
in the GA Legend it is mentioned as ASTM A276 Gr.431. Hence shall be corrected accordingly.-
Noted, confirmed ASTM A276 Gr. 431

ACTUATOR DATA SHEET

1.Rated Torque was mentioned as 500N-m where as maximum torque of the actuator was
mentioned as 450N-m. Rated torque is more than the maximum torque, which seems to be not
 correct. Hence, same shall be reviewed and corrected. - The maximum torque of actuator is
450Nm only and rated torque is 238Nm

2.As per specification the actuator shall have the facility of lost motion hammer blow. Same shall
be confirmed. -Noted, confirmed

QAP:

1.As per specifications all valves shall be offered for Witnessing the Final Tests, hence QAP Shall
be changed accordingly. - Noted, same shall be corrected

TEST PROCEDURE:

1.Seat Test pressure shall be corrected to 17.6kg/cm2 instead of 16kg/cm2.- Noted, same shall
be corrected

2.End to end operation tests shall be conducted for 3 times instead of 1 time for smooth
operation check. Same shall be corrected. -Noted, same shall be corrected
