Box 373 Pawleys Island, SC 29585 RE: Resignation of County Council Seat Dear John: In light of the recent action taken by the Board of Voter Registration and Elections and my desire to take into consideration what action is best for all parties, | hereby tender my resignation as a Member of Georgetown County Council for District 5 as of May 15, 2019. This decision was made after much prayerful consideration and even though | have not exhausted the appeal process which is afforded me under state statute, | feel my continued service will be a distraction to the citizens of this great county and to the members of County Council as they go about the business of governing our county. | am very grateful to the citizens of District 5 for allowing me to have served as their Councilman for over the last 10 years. During that time, I would like to think that | have had some small part in making Georgetown County a better place to live, work and play. | extend my sincere appreciation to the present members of Council and to those | have had the privilege to serve with in the past for your cooperation and guidance.
