Assignment Title: Q3 Mid Unit Assessment Macbeth’s Downfall

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal was to score at least an 80% or higher with minimal spelling errors and not
being repetitive throughout my essay.
What was the purpose of this writing assignment?
The purpose of writing this assignment was to identify all the aspects throughout Macbeth that lead to his
downfall. Also, to expand our writing strategies and reflect on what we did wrong in our past essays and what
we can do better in Macbeths downfall. I’ve learned from my mistakes and was hoping to receive a better
score in this assignment then I did my last, although I might have still had some issues with turning in my
work.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I needed more evidence and proof to support my claim. I also need to work on explaining each different
reason I cited that was responsible for Macbeths downfall. I had the minimal grammar error, next time I
should revise and edit before turning in my work and not rush through.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I did well on finding the quotes I knew supported why Macbeths result in the end was awful. Besides
Macbeth being held responsible for his own actions and what lead to his downfall, his wife Lady Macbeth
was also one of the reasons.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?


I’m not confident in my writing so I’d personally rather have someone else edit my paper, I also don’t catch
errors in my own paper that someone else might catch. I should always keep a sharp eye on what I write so
that I can earn a higher score on my assignments.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
Next time I will revise and edit my paper, also having multiple peers edit my paper as well. I will take the
time to brain storm rather than skim and throw words together because I’m in a rush to turn it in. To avoid
tuning in my papers late, I will set a plan/schedule where my essay will be turned in on time while also taking
the time to write it and being knowledgeable about my mistakes.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I got points marked off for the time I turned my work in and for mistakes like supporting my quotes and
having contractions. My goal next time will be to avoid those mistakes and earn a higher score than I
received.
