IV. Introduction

Academic Direction is a term used to define the guidance program designed to

assist pupils’ in choosing the right school and the right tracks for them as they enter
Secondary school and prepare them for Senior High School. Such, Academic Direction
is a primer or the first step for them to be aware of the educational reforms done by the
government such as K to 12 program.

Furthermore, if Career guidance is given for High School students only,

Academic Direction will be its counterpart in the elementary, thus giving the pupils
readiness and build solid foundation for later success.

V. Program Description

Program on Academic Guidance for Elementary (PAGE)

is a program designed for Grade Six learners for them to be aware of the
Secondary Schools they would want to pursue their high school. Further, the
program will orient them about the secondary schools that are Senior High
School Ready and can provide them Academic Direction on choosing the right
career/tracks they want.

The program is divided into two parts:

1. Learner’s Academic Direction Seminar (LADS)

2. Parents’ on Learners’ Academic Direction (P-LADS)

The LADS is a seminar for learners which focus on the discussion of

Secondary Schools that they can enroll with, if the school is SHS ready and what
are the tracks being offered. Information Dissemination about Scholarship Grants
both school-based and LGU based will be discussed.

The P-L:ADS is a seminar for parents that provides the them information and
other related details regarding the secondary schools that are nearby, provide
quality education and scholarship grants for their child.
VI. Objectives

The program specifically aims to:

1. Conduct Academic Direction Seminar

2. Orient and make the learners and parents aware about the
Secondary Schools that offer different tracks in preparation for
Senior High School.
3. Provide details of the Secondary Schools/LGUs that offer
scholarship
