SHIV RATRI-THE FESTIVAL

CONNECTED WITH GOD'S DESCENT ON
EARTH

All men, except perhaps the hard core atheists, at

the time of a calamity or in the state of peacelessness or
some sort of grief, look up to God for help. They pray to
Him thus: "Oh Lord, Our Redeemer, O Thou purifier of
sinful souls, the Remover of sufferings and the Bestower
of Happiness, our most propitious Father, have mercy on
us. Come and liberate us from this incarceration, Oh
Kindly Light, lead us out of the whirl of vices, back to our
Sweet Home!" Such prayers are a token of the fact that
there was a time in the remote past, when God, the
Merciful Father, descended into this world and salvaged
the souls from the ocean of vices and bestowed peace and
prosperity on them. It is because of His having done some
supreme good to mankind by incarnating in this world,
that He is worshipped even today through His image the
'Shivling'. It is because of His having given peace to
mankind by descending in a corporeal medium in this
world that His advent into this world of mortals is sought
again and again and is commemorated every year on the
occasion of what is known as 'Shivratri' and people daily
sing very highly of Him and His deeds.

But even those who celebrate Shivratri and worship

Him zealously have little knowledge of how the
Incorporeal God Father Shiva, who is regarded as ever
above the cycle of birth and death, incarnates into this
world and brings about the welfare and renovation of
mankind. We can say it on the basis of our own
experiences that if man assimilates the interesting and
beneficial knowledge of this supernatural birth of God,
the knowledge which God Shiva Himself has revealed to
us, he can surely rise from a debased sinner into a highly
purified man. He can change himself from an estranged
and orphaned soul into a God-embraced and God-blessed
one, from a powerless human being into a doubly-
crowned deity of heaven.

Why is Shiva's Divine Birth Associated with

‘Ratri’?

The most Beloved God Shiva, the Supreme Father,

has now explained that 'Night' is in fact, a symbol of
ignorance, drowsiness, tamoguna, lassitude,
lasciviousness or indulgence in vices. In this sense,
Dwapar Yuga and Kaliyuga i.e. the second half-period of
the World History-cycle denotes the 'Night of the World'
because that is the period characterised by ignorance,
irreligiousness, sinfulness and lewdness. At the end of
Kaliyuga (Iron-Age) when even the Sadhus (Holy men)
put up only an outward show and are devoid of purity
within, when even the Gurus (preceptors) are mere
impostors and the Sanyasis (renunciants) do not renounce
their vices and the Acharyas have lost all high standards
of Achar(Character) i.e. when even those who are
expected to be the source of ethical and moral inspiration
are utterly degenerated, then God-Father Shiva, the most
illustrious Preceptor descends into this world. In other
words, when unrighteousness and impurity in personal,
social and international conduct reaches its zenith and
Bharat, which was once the edifice of Purity, becomes a
veritable house of sin, hidden or open, it is then that the
advent of God Shiva, the Bestower of Purity and Remover
of Impurity, takes place in this world. Therefore, instead
of celebrating a 'birthday' (as it is called in the case of
others), we celebrate the 'Birth night' of God Shiva.

The Extraordinary way of birth of God Shiva,

the Unborn

The Most Venerated Supreme Soul Shiva, does not

take birth as other beings do from the wombs of their
respective mothers because He is Himself the Supra-
Cosmic, Father-Mother of all mankind and, being above
Karma and the bondage caused by it, He is also free from
the kind of birth the human beings are subject to. Unlike
other souls, He does not take a body that be ‘His own’
because one's ‘own body’ is had on the basis of one's past
actions and resolves (Samskaras). God Shiva does not
perform any such actions and has no such bondages and
resolves as other beings have. What He does is He
descends from the Supreme Abode and uses the medium
of a mediocre man, who has an aged body of ‘his own’
which he has acquired as a result of his past actions and
resolves. God Shiva takes the body of that man ‘on loan’
so to say, because He requires a mouth-organ for
unfolding the knowledge and spiritual yoga unto
mankind. This body serves as the corporeal medium or a
vehicle for Shiva, the Supreme Soul. God Father Shiva
only speaks through the oral organ of this man to divulge
the truth and to enlighten the path of mankind. For this
purpose, He descends from His Supreme Abode for short
periods, as and when He so wills and then, having given
the teachings, returns to His abode. This extraordinary
way of embodying Himself into the man's aged body or
this entry into another's body, is called the Divine Birth or
Supernatural Incarnation of God Shiva and is peculiar to
Him only.

When the Knowledgeful God Shiva reveals the

Knowledge, which had hitherto gone into oblivion,
through the mouth of this man, he (the latter) also listens
to it and assimilates it, even as many others do, and in this
way, the souls transform themselves into righteous and
pious ones. The Most Exalted God-Father Shiva gives this
man a new name because having renounced his previous
ways, this man is now changed and, as we say, is a
'possessed man'. This man is now given the name
'Prajapita Brahma'. In other religions, he comes to be
known as Adam or Adhem, the progenitor of holy
mankind. Those who listen to the sermons of God, the
Supreme Father, as uttered through the mouth of Prajapita
Brahma, are known as Brahmins or the ‘oral progeny of
Brahma’ or the ‘mouth-children of Adam’ or ‘Brahma
Kumaris and Brahma Kumars' and this knowledge, which
God gives, is known as the ‘original Gita-Gyan’.

The Disappearance of Ignorance and vices after

the Advent of God Shiva

In this connection, it should be known that when

God Shiva, the Sun of Godly Knowledge, enlightens
mankind through His Knowledge, this Knowledge makes
a lasting and great impact on the world, as a result
Tamoguna, Inertia and Kaliyuga are ended, giving place
to Satoguna, Virtue and Satyuga. This Supernatural
incarnation of God, which takes place only once in a
Kalpa (World-Cycle) is an epoch-making event because it
transforms the whole world from the den of devils to the
abode of deities and uplifts a man to the status of the deity
Shri Narayana and a woman to the status of the deity Shri
Lakshmi, which are the highest status a human soul can
achieve.

The Present Re-Incarnation of God Father

Shiva

What a strange situation it is that while on the one

hand, the devotees of Shiva prostrate themselves before
the image of Shiva, worship Him and invoke Him in the
customary way, on the other hand God-Father Shiva has
re-incarnated at the present time, which is the fag-end of
Kaliyuga and is transforming the vicious beings into the
viceless ones or the Shudras (Impious people) into holy
ones, by imparting Godly Knowledge and teaching easy
Raj Yoga.

What has been said above explains that the Divine

Birth of the Most Beloved and the Most Venerable God-
Father Shiva (Jehovah) is worth a million diamonds
because man attains the God-Fatherly inheritance of
Liberation and Fruition only when God Shiva descends
into this world and takes Supernatural birth. Any other
religious leader, founder, preceptor or preacher i.e. any
human being whosoever, cannot bestow heavenly
inheritance on mankind, because all human beings are
‘brothers’ among themselves, whereas inheritance is
obtained from one's father. Moreover, all human beings
without any exception, are caught up in the Wheel of
Birth and Death, whereas God alone is always free from
this. Therefore, the Divine Birth-Night of God Father
Shiva is unique, marvellous and unparalleled and no other
birthday or Jayanti bears any comparison to it. That is
why, God, The Sermonizer of the Gita, has said “My birth
and My acts are extra-ordinary and divine and anyone
who acquires the esoteric knowledge of these, gets
liberated from the whirl of pain that this world is”.

 We have said above that the original and real Gita
Knowledge is being given by the Knowledgeful God-
Father Shiva through the mouth of Prajapita Brahma.
Keeping this in mind, one can appreciate the valuable
truth that Gita Jayanti is, in fact, Shiv Jayanti or vice
versa.
TO REALLY SEE YOU NEED A THIRD EYE!

Intelligence (from Latin intelligere) literally means

reading between the lines. In other words, it’s all about
seeing behind the obvious/events/happening/things and
arriving at intuitive discernment, or seeing with third eye.
Seeing a gift you received is ordinary seeing, and seeing
also the love behind that gift is real seeing. Seeing cards
arranged as a pyramid is ordinary seeing, and seeing also
the forces acting in various directions, nullifying each
other thus making the pyramid shape possible is real
seeing. Seeing a seed is ordinary seeing, and seeing also
within it the invisible program in which all the future
generations remains protected is real seeing.

Seeing only with physical eyes may also be boring.

If a mason sees only construction materials and tools and
works only for money, then he may be mechanical in his
work. But if he sees the end-product in the screen of his
mind and works with the attitude: ‘I am partaking in the
nation-building, or in the construction of a beautiful
palace … etc,’ then he will have the joy of work with each
working day passing like a second. So is the case with
living on this planet. Very few people enjoy living here
whereas vast majority is not enjoying because they lack
real seeing, hence almost living in darkness—without
even knowing the answer to the primary question: “Who
am I?” and other vital question “What rules events and
happenings?”

Truth behind one’s body

Ordinary eyes see oneself as just body, but this is

not scientific. Francis Crick, co-discoverer of the double-
helix DNA, declares that “it is not true that mere firing of
neurons in the brain could indicate consciousness….
Physics has yet to explain how consciousness could come
about through firing of neuron in the brain.” Scientist
Roger Penrose says, “Right now, science is too limited for
(our understanding) it.” Scientists know the particles of
which things are made but the real nature of objects
continues to evade them. The universe is composed of
waves and it is a modification of its original substance
that remains hidden in the waves and modification. The
sense organs that catch the waves and modifications are
themselves modification of the substance or of its waves.
Each one of them can catch only a single modification.
Hence NO SENSE ORGAN IS CAPABLE OF
COMPREHENDING WHAT LIES BEHIND the waves
or modifications. Further, body is made of billions of
cells. Just like an employer instructs his employees for
performing various tasks, DNA instructs the cell. DNA is
a multi-billion-lettered program telling the cell to act in a
very detailed way exactly how the person's body should
develop. Behind this instruction program a real seer
would see an immaterial builder at work.
 Interestingly, neuroscientists unwittingly add
another dimension to the above conclusion because they
say human brain not only processes more than a million
messages a second but also weighs the importance of all
this data, filtering out the relatively unimportant. This
screening function is what allows us to focus and operate
effectively in our world. Such a screening or
discriminating function is characteristics of an immaterial
reality behind brain. That is why brain becomes a trash
when the life (the source of which is soul/atma) leaves.
This means an invisible actor is more important than the
body it uses. When atma exits body becomes inactive, and
when atma enters an unborn body in the womb it becomes
active which means atma can exist with or without body.
This gives a short answer to the question “Who am I?” I
am atma that uses this body! That means body and its
organs such as brain are like the hardware of a computer
and atma and its qualities are like operating systems. This
explains why we see intelligence behind the brain, which
expresses itself as the ability to reason, to produce
feelings, to create motion pictures in dream, to plan, to
take action, to relate to other people, to know whether
somebody loves or not, to seek a Supreme Father …etc.
This also explains why we have great thirsts, such as
thirst for unconditional love and thirst for righteousness
(which cannot be satisfied by any amount of wealth or
fame)! This gives an extended answer to the question
“Who am I?” I am the active principle, invisible reality,
the conscious and immaterial entity within this body; thus
I am a spiritual being, which is the exact representation of
the very being of Supreme Soul, my Heavenly Father! I
am existing, I have existed in a baby body, I have existed
in a child body, and in an adult body, and in many bodies
through many births. I came through my parents (not from
them), and parents also came through their parents (not
from them) which shows the numerous births atma takes
without any conscious action of parents! The fact that
atma took a body once means it can do so any number of
times—infinite into the past and infinite into the future. In
this real seeing, body and its relationships becomes less
important, and what used to agitate/excite us before will
no longer do so—we feel so powerful and perfectly
balanced in all situations because each one of us is now
convinced that “I am atma, a child of the Almighty.

Truth behind happenings

Ordinary eyes see an action or happening

separately [often lamenting “why it happened to me”]
where as the authentic eyes see an action or happening as
part of a flow! Science knows nothing happens isolated
which Sir Isac Newton detailed it through three laws of
motion—nothing happens without something preceding to
it. Then there is STRING THEORY, also called, Theory
of Everything (ToE) which suggests that the fundamental
“positive-energy unit” in our universe is not “elementary
particles” but vastly smaller “strings of energy” and thus
gives a common explanation for the four main forces seen
in nature [the electromagnetic force, the strong nuclear
force, the weak nuclear force and gravity]. In other words,
when you apply the laws, principles and relationships of
physics to the four fundamental forces and all the
associated elementary particles, sit back and watch, then
you would see the universe unfold as it should—no
different from what it is now. Scottish physicist Peter
Higgs (Nobel Prize laureate for his work on the mass of
subatomic particles) envisioned an energy field where
particles interact with a key particle, the Higgs boson.
Richard Feynman (Nobel Prize winner for quantum
electrodynamics) said, "Why nature is mathematical is a
mystery...The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of
miracle." (The Meaning of It All: Thoughts of a Citizen-
Scientist by Richard Feynman) Such teachings are now
abundant. All these scientific visions of everything being
run by precise laws and being connected are echoed in
every Kalpa (cycle of 5000 years): “Everything
is threaded on Me like stringed pearls.” (Bhagavat Gita
7:7) Shiva Baba further simplified this whole mechanism
of Cause and Effect calling it as “His right hand”
(Murli 12/9/2016) as though it is the key department with
an ever-vigilant and unerring overseer! Accepting the
truth that everything is linked and everything that happens
is governed by laws gives us inner peace and we begin
to see any event in its totality—many factors and forces
are at work. Effect of this true vision is that we pleasantly
agree that whatever happened should happen the way it
did! Such a person would stop asking why, but always say
“wow” which is a sign that life has become a celebration.
 Having eyes of a seer has eternal benefits in view
of the fact that history repeats exactly in every Kalpa.
People with ordinary eyes may think everything is routine
—day and night, seasons, rain cycle, yugas … same
things go on repeating; and we eat the same food, meet
the same people … etc. In this ordinary seeing, life may
seem boring. But real seer would see also what happens
behind the obvious as Heraclitus did: “No man ever steps
in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's
not the same man.” He knew that all things are in motion
and nothing is at rest and everything is always changing
in every respect. We may be eating the same food every
day, yet the food we tasted today is not yesterdays’ food—
they are different. People with whom we often interact are
not the same today because today their circumstances are
different, their experiences are different, their attitudes are
different … even the very basic unit of life—cells—are
not the same today. “Your body is constantly replacing old
cells with new ones at the rate of millions per second. By
the time you finish reading this sentence, 50 million of
your cells will have died and been replaced by others.”

Shiva himself testifies to this fact saying ‘each person,
each person’s role, each day, each happening is not the

 In the eyes of a real seer, there is nothing to feel
bored! Every moment is new! Real seer is motivated to
sing in his heart that God is his real beauty, God is his true
music and his life is the lyrics that bring praises to Him.
This can happen to you if you practice Rajayoga.
 BE HONEST WITH BABA ABOUT YOUR
THOUGHTS

Baba is our Teacher, Protector and Sustainer. We

have been given an Alokik birth. The quality of our lives
can be seen. My happiness should be such that the people
of the world become happy on seeing me. There is no
nourishment like happiness. The Creator is happy on
seeing His creation, His children. Baba has filled us with
purity, peace, power, love and happiness. It doesn’t matter
where you stay; simply fill yourself with these qualities.

Baba is mine. Say to yourself: ‘My Baba, sweet

Baba, beloved Baba, thank you Baba’. Baba has given us
teachings and we simply have to imbibe them. Baba says,
“Children” and the children say, “Baba”. We are receiving
unlimited happiness from God. God is pleased with an
honest heart. Keep courage and be honest with Baba. Be
honest with Baba about your thoughts. It is easy to create
thoughts but I have to be honest with Baba about the
thoughts I am creating. This is very important. Now make
your time and make your thoughts successful and
worthwhile.

At the Confluence Age, Baba has given each one of

us a very good part. See your part and do the best you can
in every aspect; in effort and in service. Do service
through your body, mind and wealth. Serve the Yagya.
This Yagya belongs to Baba. Baba has told us to show
mercy and give blessings to others. Never become upset
or upset anyone else. Even if someone tries to give you
sorrow, don’t take it. Don’t look at the negative aspects of
anyone’s nature. Mingle with others and keep smiling.
There should be feelings of love and friendship with
others.

Let your heart be happy and your mind cool. Never

let your head become hot. Peace and purity are closely
connected. Only when there is purity can there be peace.
Let Baba see how knowledgeable you are. Never ask,
‘why’, rather say ‘Wah Baba! Wah!’. For this, keep in
mind ‘who I am’ and ‘who is mine’. Reveal how sensible
you are. A sensible soul follows the Godly codes of
conduct.

Avyakt BapDada has continued to give us

sustenance and doesn’t lose hope in any of His children.
His words give only happiness. He wants us to claim our
fortune. So, keep the aim to reach your perfect stage.
There is nothing to worry about; Baba is Karan
Karavanhar and is making me equal to Himself. We are
simply His instruments. Baba’s teachings are like a
medicine; whoever takes that medicine recovers.

There are many who stay in the household. They

are all detached and loving. We are all Baba’s beloved
children. He makes us sit in His lap and makes us the
garland around His neck. We are very fortunate.
 Whatever you should do, do it now. Who has seen
tomorrow? My intellect should be so clean that I can
catch Baba’s touching and do it right away. Do whatever
you have to do right now? Only a faithful intellect can be
victorious.

Diamond Hall is full; many of Baba’s children have

come here. It is a very wonderful scene. I feel fortunate to
have seen all of you here in this gathering.

The truth machine that is not like man’s fruit

The truth machine is now for sale and all you need
to do is take it off the Godly table. It will cost you nothing
and all you need to do is place your rubbish and falsehood
on the table as you pick up this machine and place it in
the pocket of your mind.

You will find that God’s machine to happiness fits

into the pocket of your mind very easily and is very
comfortable and feels a perfect fit. You will need to empty
the handbag of your mind of its mirror and lipstick, and
take your purse out and throw it away. Ignore the wallet
and credit cards in your suit of body consciousness and
bad habits and take off your tie of position and authority
to make room for God’s machine that can make you
worthy. God likes you to wear the invisible suit of love, of
giving and of service, that makes you become clearly
visible and He remains invisible.

Are you trying to be happy?

Most abuse life and the meaning of their existence

is so shallow that it revolves just around pleasing their
five senses, eating meat, drinking alcohol etc. and in so
doing, chain themselves to many bad habits in this
process of trying to be happy.

The Book of Truth has been in existence since

eternity as the soul is eternal and so are its actions. This
Truth book has a long and detailed chapter on the
intricacies of spiritual law and order and what happens to
the soul when those laws are broken and ignored. The
karmic laws are written in stone that can never be
changed.

These laws are ever present and secretly rule

everyone and give justice, punishment and rewards as and
when it decides is fitting. This law comes into being the
moment a person chooses to pick up the gun and fire
bullets that hurt themselves and others. People want to
live and rule their life having the gun of bad habits at their
side not understanding that soon karma takes back control
inflicting pain or discomfort in accordance with its law
and sentence.

Karma is the secret Policeman in life that watches

everyone and if necessary, punishes anyone who breaks
the law. Karma is the equivalent of modern-day CCTV
technology but with spiritual capacity. This Policeman has
been given access to unlimited automatic weapons and
bullets.

But, there is a shield called the Shield of Truth and

Love and Good Actions. This shield gives you armoured
clothing, if you’re rich enough (good enough) and wise
enough to be able to buy it. You can pick up your shield
or buy these clothes at any time from God’s store. There
is no need for you to ever be shot or injured anymore
when you wear these clothes made of truth.

What’s most important: thinking, breathing or

eating?

My answer is: love – it is the most important aspect

in life. With love you can walk in the right direction, think
and breathe with peace and eat when you are hungry the
food that will make you healthy.

Man’s staircase versus God’s escalator.

Have you such love and wisdom in your life that

you travel each day on the escalator requiring attention
but not so much effort? Many need to make effort in life
as they lack real love and wisdom, so they have to walk
up the stairs that require great effort but little attention.

Is your life that of a victim or a slave to bad

habits carrying their ball and chain with you
everywhere you go? Are you unaware that you are on
the run and have a limp? Or are you sat as a master
and king on the ‘thrown of control’ enjoying its
happiness?

There are many thieves in life following you in the

form of bad habits that are ever ready to steal whatever
treasures you have. Bad habits have many arms and until
they strike, remain invisible. Once a bad habit has
attacked you, he becomes the baddie dressed in black and
the villain who can shot you in the head, the back or in the
heart. If you are not constantly on guard and alert, you
will be robbed and before you know it, you’re a beggar on
the floor, and a typical person of today who is more slave
and victim, than king or master.

Humanity plays at the foot of their false mountain

that will turn instantly crumble into the mountain of
sorrow when their actions shake loose and release the
avalanche of stored up bad karma.

It is one thing to talk to your cat, and quite

another to dig up and talk to your tree’s karmic roots
and expect an answer.

The depths and intricacies of karma are vast and

spread far and deep and whose seeds you sow many years
and lives ago. To ask and try to work out now why your
life is with such bitter fruit, it is for you to dig up the roots
around your karma tree and ask them why it is they are
producing such ugly and bitter fruit that you have to eat,
taste and digest every day.

One needs wisdom, tolerance and patience in order

to stop asking the tree why their once sweet fruits have
now become sour with pain and sorrow.

The meaning of life is to be in God’s Book

carried in His hand.

If you want to know the meaning of life and know

the answers to all questions, you need get smart by first
reading God’s one and only book. This book He has
called ‘Look within your soul and look to God to change
yourself, your path, your lifestyle and your bad habits’.

Most people’s history book which covers their life

until today has chapters of great sadness that also has
many loose pages from their never ending indulgences of
bad habits that weaken the spine.

A person’s book on their life should be full, tightly

bound, with happiness found on each page and in every
paragraph and line. Yet due to the weight and corrosive
effect of bad habits, many people’s pages detailing what
could have been a happy life, have fallen out and ended
up on the floor.

Carry God’s Book everywhere you go, and God

will carry you as His bookmarker everywhere He goes.

THE FATHER AWAKENS THOSE WHO ARE

SLEEPING

Who says, ‘Awaken, oh brides, awaken’? It is in

the intellect that the one who awakens us is only the one
Unlimited Father! He can also be known as the
Bridegroom or the Beloved, because in devotion all the
brides, or souls, remember Him. In this way we are the
ones, the brides who remember Him and the One who has
been remembered is the Bridegroom or the Beloved. He
is also called the Supreme Father. Now, that Father says
awaken; so it means we are sleeping. Those who are
sleeping are awoken, aren’t they! The Father comes and
wakes up those who are sleeping. The Father sits and
explains as to how we are sleeping. Sleeping doesn’t
mean sleeping on the bed. The Father comes and explains
who is sleeping and who is waking.

You have lost the everlasting happiness that you

attained for many births. You are moving along in a
sorrowful birth, as if asleep from that happiness, aren’t
you! You don’t even know that you had everlasting
happiness, that you were happy in that constant happiness.
You have forgotten; which means you have slept, you are
unaware. Neither have you known that happiness, nor the
Father, the Bestower of happiness. You did not know
about the inheritance you got from the Father, and to what
extent there was happiness in it. You can either say that
you have forgotten, or that you slept in ignorance.

Now the Father has come and is giving us the

awareness of the new world. You heard in the song – the
New World has come. The Age of Truth is known as the
New World. Now the New Age is coming, which means
the New World is coming. This old world, which is
known as the Iron Age, has to finish. The Father says
awaken now: that same New World, the World of
Happiness, is coming. But you must do whatever you
have to do for it. The Father is waking you up to do it.

What should be done for the new world should be

done now, shouldn’t it! The sapling, the reward of
elevated action, has to be planted now. The reward will
be received in the future when it is planted now. This is
why the Father says you have to wake up now. It isn’t
that you can wake up later; no, wake up right now. Make
your actions elevated now. It is on the basis of these
elevated actions that you have to attain the elevated
reward. So the Father says, make efforts to make your
actions good. This is the last birth.

This is the last birth of your old births. Make your

actions elevated in this birth and lay a foundation, or plant
a sapling, on the basis of which you will attain happiness
in the Age of Truth. You have to plant now, don’t you!
Now is the time to do this work, isn’t it! Later, you have
to eat, and enjoy the reward. Whoever does will get; but
you have to do it now. The Father sits and gives us the
knowledge of what to do now. Those who come daily
understand the teachings very well, don’t you! That
which went wrong birth after birth, and why we became
unhappy, all these things are in our intellect, aren’t they!

The Father Comes and Ignites the Light of

Knowledge

From where did the cause for sorrow begin? God

did not give us the cause for sorrow. The sorrow that we
experience is because of our own mistakes. Which
mistake? God comes and gives us the light to correct the
mistake. It isn’t that some magic light should be shown.
It is not like that. He comes and ignites the light of the
soul; He throws light on the reason for our unhappiness,
and on what mistake we have made. He corrects that
mistake. For God to come and correct the mistake means
He has shed light on it. Knowledge is known as light,
isn’t it!

Look, if one becomes a doctor through medical

knowledge, it means he has received the light of medical
knowledge, doesn’t it. The light doesn’t means that you
will be able see the light. Many think that there will be a
vision of light, that it will be seen. It is said, we attained
the light; attaining the light doesn’t mean that we saw that
light through these eyes, or attained it physically. This
knowledge is to dispel the darkness of ignorance, so it is
known as light. Information about anything is known as
light or knowledge of that thing.

The Father comes and gives light as to how to

correct that which is becoming spoiled, and which has
been spoiled. He gives the light of knowledge, doesn’t
He! The Father has come and given us the knowledge,
the teachings, the understanding, the light. We have
committed some mistake, and He has explained about that
mistake. Our actions became corrupt due to the mistake,
which means we ourselves have become corrupted; so we
need to become elevated by correcting those mistakes.
Many people desire a vision; they want to see something.
Will the mistakes be corrected by seeing something? We
need understanding to correct a mistake. Any person
commits a mistake due to ignorance. In order to correct
it, the understanding regarding that mistake is given.
Otherwise, it isn’t that if you see something your mistakes
will be corrected.

All these aspects have to be understood: that we

have done something wrong, and as a result our actions
have become corrupted. We have become unhappy due to
the corrupted actions. The cause for our unhappiness is
our mistakes. To correct those mistakes, the Father has to
give knowledge or understanding, doesn’t He! In order to
explain, He definitely has to sit and explain or teach, as in
a school or college. Look, there is college for becoming a
doctor, isn’t there! Both males and females are given an
education through which they get a degree, which means
they become a doctor. Similarly, this is the college for
becoming deities.
 THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF
SHIV JAYANTI

From times immemorial, the festival of Shiv

Jayanti, referred to by devotees as SHIVRATRI, is
celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety. But, have
you ever wondered why it’s called SHIVRATRI? It is the
fag end of Kaliyug where things are in a state of disorder.
Sins and vices have reached their zenith, and the world is
on the brink of destruction...owing to upheavals,
turbulence, chaos and conflict. It is then that God Father
Shiva descends on earth to reawaken us all with HIS
divine knowledge and to transform the vicious world into
the virtuous deity world. This re-incarnation took place in
1936. It also marks the beginning of the Confluence
period. As per the eternal law, every human soul, as well
as each one of the religions, passes through the Golden,
Silver, Copper, Iron age - the four stages of existence in
this world, in each Kalpa (cycle of 5000 yrs). We hail this
auspicious occasion as the awakening of a new era, the
ushering of New Golden Age; as God, through kindling
His divine knowledge, transforms the Demonic World
into Deity world; hence, we, the inherited children of God
Shiva commemorate this festival as SHIV JAYANTI.

At such a time, when there is sheer degeneration,

degradation of morals and values, Incorporeal God Shiva,
the Supreme Almighty Authority, Father of all souls,
descends to reawaken us and enlighten us with His Godly
knowledge, leading humanity back to divinity, peace,
piety, prosperity and eternal happiness. We at Brahma
Kumaris, celebrate it as TRIMURTI Shiv Jayanti,
marking the most auspicious day when God Shiva
revealed the deep esoteric knowledge about Himself as
the Creator of the Trinities, Brahma, Vishnu and
Shankar. It is the divine birthday of God Shiva. Hence
it is called Shiv Jayanti. God takes the Rath (organs) of
Brahma, to disseminate this highly divine knowledge
through His Lotus Mouth. Thus, we become His
adopted children as Brahma Kumar and Brahma
Kumari.

Maha Shivratri, when celebrated with complete

and deep understanding, its spiritual significance
marks the beginning of confluence period (a new
change) in our lives, at the fag end of Kaliyug and
before the inception of Satyug. We transform from
Tamopradhan, impure humans, into pure elevated
Satopradhan souls through power of easy Rajyoga,
becoming the master of our sense organs and the
subtle sense organs of mind, intellect and Sanskars.
This is the only way in which the world order could be
brought at peace, to a state of righteousness and
vicelessness, and to a virtuous world replete with love
happiness, eternal peace, prosperity and longevity.
 Maha Shivratri is the most auspicious festival of
bestowing ‘Mukti’ (liberation) to all and ‘Jeevan Mukti’
(liberation-in-life or fruition) to those who follow His
SHRIMAT.

As the destroyer of all vices and weaknesses, God

Shiva performs the highest role of Supreme Father,
Teacher and Preceptor, in practical. His elevated
instructions( Shrimat) for each one of us is to practice
soul consciousness, live a pure, austere life free from
vices so that we become His worthy children, worthy of
clinching the double crowned sovereignty for 21 births,
comprising of future Golden and Silver Ages. Why not
celebrate Mahashivrati in its true spirit to become future
deities, ushering in the Golden age!

The main pillars of Godly teachings are 1.Wisdom

or Gyaan 2. Meditation or Sahaj Rajyog 3. DHARNA or
inculcation of divine virtues 4. SEVA or sharing of Godly
blessings, knowledge and pure feelings /good wishes
through our service of mind, speech and actions.

To be an embodiment of knowledge means

whatever actions you perform will be filled with light and
might, thus; should be righteous and elevated. To be
embodiment of yoga means to be a conqueror of the
physical organs. Be a master of the self over all the sense
organs. Sharing of knowledge means serve through your
mind, words, actions or in relationships.
 The difference between the celebrations by the
Brahma Kumaris and that of other devotees on Shivratri:

1. The devotees believe in ‘Aatma so Parmaatma’.

They say God is Omnipresent. They are unaware of the
fact that God is only One, an Incorporeal point of light
(universally accepted by all faiths). Anybody having a
physical or subtle body cannot be called God. Shri Ram,
Shri Krishna etc. are all deities. Similarly Christ, Buddha,
Ibrahim and Guru Nanak were all pure souls, but not the
Supreme Soul. They were religious founders/leaders.
Those who perform good actions are Punyaatma or
charitable souls and those who perform bad actions are
Papatma or sinful souls. But Paramatma is only one.

2. Devotees keep fast for a day; whereas the BKs,

who have understood the spiritual significance of the
festival as well as recognized God in His true perspective,
endeavour to keep fast of purity and austerity; purity in
thoughts words and deeds.

3. Devotees offer ‘Bel Patra’, a bitter leaf, ‘Ak ke

phool’, banana, berries, milk - these five offerings on the
Shivling. On the other hand, brahma kumaris vow to
sacrifice the vices of lust, anger, attachment, greed and
ego. In other words these five offerings by devotees are
nothing but symbolic of five vices of human beings.

4. People do not discriminate between Shiva and

Shankar. However, one is the Creator, another the
creation. The three tasks of Generation (creation of new
world incognito through Brahma), operation
(preserving/sustaining the same through Vishnu) and
Destruction (through Shankar) is being carried out by
SHIVA Himself.

If one understands the deep secrets about God,

Karma, world cycle and the most important the value of
present time, then one cannot stay without claiming His
inheritance of liberation in life for 21 births - The future
Golden and Silver Ages. I conclude herewith, by
appending one of my poems on Shiv Jayanti, to further
elucidate the spiritual significance of this auspicious
festival:

Shivbaba—an Altruistic benefactor

At this confluence age, Oh! Shivbaba

Descend through the human medium of Brahma

Enlightening us all with Rajyoga

For ushering in the Golden Satyuga

On the Altar of Thy Rudrayagya

Our Vices we sacrifice

In return, Thou bless us with Liberation in Life!

Thou safeguard us all from Maya

Keeping vices and sins at Bay

Thy teachings adore, as full of nectar are they!

Oh! Shivbaba, uplifting the languishing poor

With golden imperishable Divine Treasures,

Proclaiming them as the true Rulers!

Oh! the Father of all fathers

Thou never crave the Golden Sovereignty

How great Altruistic Benefactor of Humanity!

We commemorate Your 78th Shiv Jayanti

With divine Respect, Austerity and Purity

Sending vibrations of Goodwill and pure feelings

Keeping Thee beside in every task and dealings

Thus, intensifying our spiritual efforts and tasks,

Ridding the self of vanity and masks!

 THE FESTIVAL OF MAHA SHIVARATRI

India is a land of diversity. It is framed by the

daunting Himalayas in the north, Kanyakumari in the
South, the Arabian Sea in the west and the Bay of
Bengal in the east. It is home to thousand years old
ornately sculptured temples, the world famous Taj Mahal,
modern skyscrapers and prevalent slums. India contains
an astonishing variety of geographical features from
stretches of eternally frozen glaciers, deep rain-forests,
fertile valleys, blistering deserts, and palm sprinkled
silvery beaches. It has various rivers such as
Brahmaputra, Ganges, Yamuna and Narmada. Religion, in
many forms, is the basis of India’s cultural context. The
diversity is reflected in the 17 major languages and 900
dialects. India is the land where cultures and thoughts
intermingle to provide an altogether new way of living to
the people. But, its most important aspect is the history of
glorious culture of spirituality. If we make an aerial
glance of the vast land of India, we will find different
temples, starting from Amarnath in North to
Rameshwaram in South or Kashi Viswanath or
Mahakaleswar at Ujjain where lord Shiva is worshipped.
Besides these, almost every village has a temple of God
Shiva. This is because the Supreme Soul, God Father
Shiva, incarnates here to make India Paradise or Heaven.
Swami Vivekananda had said in praise of God Shiva: “I
prostate before Him! The Master remover of evil, who
wipes the dark stains of this Iron Age.”

Maha Shivaratri is being celebrated throughout

India from time immemorial and this has been described
by the famous Kashmiri historian, Kalhana, in his
celebrated book ‘Rajatarangini’. The famous musician of
India, Tansen, at his birth place Behat Village where an
ancient Shiva temple still stands, worshipped Shiva and it
is said that God had blessed him to be the best musician
of that time.

Two hundred years before Christ, Patanjali, the

founder of Patanjali Yoga Sutra, described various names
of Shiva and also had given descriptions of God Shiva. In
Balmiki Ramayana which is treated as the ‘Adi Epic’ in
Sanskrit, there are descriptions about God Shiva in
Uttarkanda and Yudhkanda. Balmiki also stated that both
Rama and Ravan were the worshippers of Shiva. It was
evident that Shiva was worshipped in India in early days.
When Hiuen Tsang of China visited India in 7 th century,
he travelled throughout India and saw many Shiva
temples. Banabhatta in his famous epic ‘Kadambari’
described the worship of God Shiva.

God Shiva is the Father of all souls. He is the

Ocean of Knowledge, Ocean of Bliss, Ocean of Peace,
Ocean of Purity, Redeemer of Sins who comes to
transform this vicious world into deity world. He has no
body of his like the human body, i.e., He is Incorporeal,
Immortal, Imperishable, a Conscient point of light. Shiva
means the Benefactor, the doer of Good. If any one
remembers Him with a loving heart, He is there to
exonerate them from the vices done during their life
period.

The festival of Maha Shivaratri, observed in India

in the month Falgun (February) on the 14 th day after the
full moon, commemorates the reincarnation of Supreme
Father Shiva who gives the true knowledge of The Gita at
the time of extreme decay of religion. As per the Shrimad
Bhagwad Gita, during the darkest period of human
civilization when India becomes rampant with
irreligiousness, vices rule at the supreme, human
character gets degraded, lasciviousness knows no bound,
cruelty becomes common and the human race is in dire
distress, then at that time, according to His promise, God
incarnates in India through the medium of Prajapita
Brahma. This incarnation of God is observed as Maha
Shivaratri. It is said “When the Ocean of Knowledge
(Gyan Surya) pervades, the vicious darkness of sex lust,
anger, greed, attachment and ego disappears”. Therefore,
God Shiva is called Papkateswar who redeems human
souls from vices. All we have to do is to become free
from vices and negativity by being soul conscious and
remember God, the Supreme Soul from the depth of our
heart. This will assure us the inheritance to the double
crowned deity world of the Golden Age for 21 births in
Satyuga.
 A UNIQUE SCULPTOR - SHAKTI

You may be acquainted with several sculptors, but

here we would be describing about a unique a sculptor
that one cannot fathom its accomplishment. Infact, this
sculptor does not use any mud, clay, stone or marble
rather nor silver or gold. It skillfully carves the living
deities on this planet, bring lustreless, earthy mud from
different corner of the globe and transform them into
beautiful, exuberant, living sculptures.

Who is such a sculptor? - In the holy land of

Malwa plateau, there lies a prosperous city of Indore
which has a very famous sacred place ‘Om Shanti
Bhawan in New Palasia area. In its lap lies the pious girls
hostel ‘Shakti Niketan’. This hostel has come into being
in 1983 under the kind aegis of Brahma Baba and fixed
up its roots under the expert surveillance of beloved
reverend Om Prakash Bhaiji and several other brothers
and sisters.

Why call this hostel a unique sculptor?

Shakti Niketan is the divine girl’s hostel in which

girls from any country, state, city or village can get
