- Identify data collection procedures (DCP) commonly used by researchers in our
program
- Become aware of the relationship between DCP and research purpose

Activities:

Check out 3 studies from the library, preferably related to your research topic, and

1. Fill out the following summary table

3. Choose one interview or a questionnaire from one of the studies and

structured, or unstructured
b. Identify the types of questions that were used (see Nunan and Baily or other
authors for various categories of questions) (e.g., open, closed, break-the ice
questions, follow-up questions, Likert-scale question, rank question, etc.)
c. Explain whether the questions used in the questionnaire/interview serve to
collect the information required by the research questions/purpose/objectives
