Assignment Title: Q2 End of Unit: Chaucers Definition

Student Writing Goal: My goal for the year is to score at least an A for all my essays/assessments and score a 4 on
evidence, punctuation, grammar etc.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

I think the purpose of this assignment was to challenge us on writing a better essay with the best evidence
since it’s a short one. In this essay we had to focus on one thing which was Chaucers definition on whatever
we chose, such as, honor, love, loyalty etc. They wanted us to focus on our topic and give our opinion with
good evidence.
How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I believe I scored around a 2-3 on this essay, well on certain things. I forgot to put my header, as well as the
correct format for the date. Lastly, I did not introduce my quotes like I needed to, I jumped straight to them
which might have made the essay confusing.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I did a good job on briefly summarizing what The Wife of Bath’s Tales was about. I chose my quotes and
explained exactly what they were saying. In my conclusion paragraph I clearly restated everything and
summarized my essay.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this essay because I had a few mistakes on it. For starters, I did not include a header and did
the wrong format for the date. I did not introduce my quotes which again, probably confused the reader on
why I jumped straight to without slowing easing my way in.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
For my next essay I will make sure I proof read it and make sure I check my rubric to see if I have included
everything required so my paper gets an A+. I will make sure I am introducing my quotes and not jumping
straight to them. Last but not least, make sure I remember to put my header and correct format.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I don’t think I succeeded as much as I wanted to on this paper. Although, it was a short essay, I did not
manage my time which made it a last-minute assignment. I did good on the information, I was just missing a
few requirements which made it a B paper.
