Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to score a 95% or higher in all my assessments and sore a “5” in the statement of
focus category. I want to stay in topic my entire paper and use enough textual evidence with my minimal grammar.
Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.
How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I think I did decent. It was not the best that I could have done I think that I could have done better if I had my
ideas well thought out, and I understood the prompt a bit better. I think this is what made my score go down
rather than to go up.
What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did well in my quotes and getting to the point. Despite the whole essay being in the wrong format my
quotes and my ideas were good. For example, I talked about how honor was very important to the knights and
the people in the king Arthur time and how the knight kept is word when he married the old crone. Then, I
went on to provide a quote that stated how the knight didn’t want to marry her, but he did because he gave
her his” word” as a knight.
What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
What I would do better is to re-read the prompt. Also, ask the teacher to clarify the prompt so I don’t have to
rewrite another essay or paper. This will help me to get a better grade and to not need to write another paper
or essay.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I did not succeed in to the goal I wanted to I wanted to get a higher grade than an 80%. I wanted to get a
grade of 90%, but it is understandable as to why I got an 80%. It could have been worse, and I could have
gotten a 60% or 70% on it. I slacked on understanding the prompt and not listening to what the teacher was
talking about when she said that we had to mix Chaucer's beliefs and the story together.
