time. The first Thanksgiving was very

also talked about different ways of
describing our Thanksgiving meal. I created
a homework assignment that you can
make on Thanksgiving day. It’s a match up
game where you draw or write the food
group and then on a different card state
three adjectives that describe that food
item. Play with a family member.”

Lesson Structure:
● Have students start with describing how they celebrate thanksgiving or any other holiday

● Then state we will be reading a book to learn how it started

● Express how everyone celebrates Thanksgiving differently and compare and contrast how
we celebrate thanksgiving nowadays verses when it first happened.
● Identify words that add to senses in writing such as Savory, Crisp, Moist, and so forth.
● Have students write about a thanksgiving story or why they are anticipating thanksgiving.
