If the final solution didnt work for

you, go into properties on the
windows update and set the startup

I tried numerous "fixes" from this

worked.  As a last resort I tried the
option of resetting Windows Update
by temporarily turning off the
Windows Update service and
renaming (or deleting) the
SoftwareDistribution folder.  It
worked a treat.  I am really
disappointed re this situation.  The
problem of the App Store producing
a 0x80240024 error and Win Update
simply not working (you have to dig
deep to find out that this is also a
0x80240024 error) is by no means

None of these suggestions worked

for me. What a mess. I cannot use
some apps without the update and
the update will not run. I uninstalled

blame it on malware, but I have

no malware.

I FIXED THE PROBLEM NOW. One of

the first things i did when getting
my laptop was turning off automatic
updates. after i saw the problem i
did a system restore, that fixed it
temporarily but the problem came
back. but after turning on automatic
updates and updating my computer
and restarting the store works fine
now.

this might not help everybody, but

hopefully some.

Got to be honest...these are the kind

of problems that make average
users go mad and talk about buying
a Mac. Windows 10 needs to be
more than good looks and
functionality, it needs to be rock-
solid for eveyone. Sure, an iPad is a
simpler and far less functional
device than say a Surface 3, but if it's
problem-free it's a winner in this day
and age. Windows has a bad rep
(not for the vast majority of users of
course) for being unstable, clunky
and difficult at times and while I'm
the sort of person happy to
troubleshoot, the current generation
of gadget buyers want a simple,
non-nonsense experience. It's the
secret of Apple's success, really; you
can do so much with a Mac (most
lack the processing chops to provide
a really good gaming experience, for
example) but people are generally
far less demanding of their
computers these days so they want
something that "just works" without
the need to tinker. I sympathise with
this and while I couldn't live with a
Mac once it came to my video and
gaming needs, I would be furious if I
upgraded to Windows 10 and found
I couldn't access the app store.
Patience levels among consumers
are low these days and if something
doesn't work properly out of the box
people are happy to return items
and get something else. Tablet Mode
on my Surface 3 is a pedestrian,
glitchy, nightmare whenever I

resume from sleep; it was not

recover media and start again, or
suck it up. I'm prepared to fix it one
way or another...many are not and
something as essential as apps and
their availability has to be working
for everyone from day one. "...it just
works..." is a stick Apple have been
hitting Microsoft with for a decade
and while Macs are not without their
fair share of issues, mud sticks and
MS just haven't done enough since
Windows 7.

I tried all these solutions and more

before finding one that worked.
Create a new user without an email
http://www.windowscentral.com/fixpendingappswindows10store 23/30
12/7/2016 How to fix pending or stuck apps in the Windows 10 Store | Windows Central

Create a new user without an email

address on a loval account. Go to
 user settings in control panel and
give the user admin rights. Log out
WINDOWS PHONE
FORUMS
 SHOP

of your account. Log into the new
admin account. It will force the store
to update. When it loads the first
time, it will most likely be completely
blank. Wait about 10 minutes, then
log out and then reboot the
computer. Log back into the new
admin account. Some of the apps
should start appearing. When u see
the store show up click it and let the
default apps update. After that
done, logout, and back in with ur
regular account. And the store
should be fixed.

Well only way for me is to click

update all and then pause all and
resume one by one.. If updates are
set to manual.

I had this issue last week. Seems i

solved the issue by cancelling the
downloads and pending updates,
closed store, then wsreset as admin
followed by reboot.

How to make the store

update/download apps one at a
time (Manage the queue properly)
instead of multiple
updates/downloads at a time ?????

The best way to do that would

probably be to disable automatic
app updates.

Did you lose the data, reading

Windows Store Reset:

Go to
C:>users>user_name>AppData>Loca
l>Packages>Microsoft.WindowsStore
_8wekyb3d8bbwe>Local cache.
Delete all the files and folders in
there, problem solved."
I tried it and it worked immediately.
