DRAFT OUTLINE ARTICLE

1. Title : Utilization of waste management in construction site

2. Background Information :
a) Malaysia construction industry generates large quantity of construction and
demolition waste.

b) The disposal of construction waste caused major environmental concerns.

c) We want study the problems because to give background information on

construction waste problems in Malaysia.

d) To propose practical guidance to building professional on how to manage

and minimize construction waste.

e) Why we want study at the area because to create environmental benefits and
to help the economy.

f) Research nowadays revolve around how construction business can be made

cost effective and reliable.

g) This article gives insight to the readers about how important to conduct this
study and various industrial waste that can be effectively and efficiently
utilized in civil engineering fields.

h) Materials wastage in construction project resulted into huge financial

setbacks to builders and contractor. It causes significant effects over
aesthetics, health and general environment.

3. Problem statement
a) Moving from straight disposal to waste management can reduce the risk of
environmental issues and make business more resource efficient.
b) Construction waste can and should be managed in the same way as other
home, reduce, reuse and recycle construction waste may save money and
conserve liability, keep job sites cleaner and safer and conserve valuable
landfill space.

c) Most of the industrial waste such as slag and sludge dispose of in landfill
such as that from factories, mills and mining operations or excavation.

d) The waste material may be toxic, ignitable, corrosive or reactive.

e) If improperly managed, this waste can pose dangerous to health and

environmental consequences.

f) Mismanagement of industrial as well as “hazardous” waste has resulted in

polluted groundwater, streams, lakes and rivers as well as damage to wildlife
and vegetation.

g) A lot of materials are wasted on the jobsite end in 2 value factors which is
the fabric acquisition value and waste disposal value.

h) In this research, they bent to stand live presenting the plan of action for the
management and management of waste construction project.

4. Purpose / Objective of research

a) To reduce building waste through 3R, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle method.

b) Avoid and minimizing building waste through better construction

technologies.

c) To detect foremost used minimize, reuse, recycle and recovery technique at

construction project.

5. Research Question
a) What cause the effect of waste management in construction site?
b) How to control the industrial waste issue that affected the environmental
problem?
c) How serious is the problems of industrial waste in construction field?

d) How serious is the problem of materials wastage in site construction?

e) What are the causes and effect on environment if the waste management
system managed poorly?

f) How can be done to solved the impact on minimize, reuse, recycle and
recovery technique on building construction technology?

g) What is Hypo sludge?

h) What can be replace in the making of concrete mixture?

i) Why is the important to use alternative material for making concrete?

6. Significance of study
a) Create environmental benefits.
i. Preventing waste reduces dependence on natural resources such as trees,
oil and minerals creates less pollution by reducing manufacturing and
transportation related emissions.

b) Trim cost
i. Recycling, reusing and reducing construction waste can save money.

c) Help the economy

d) To help in reducing the cost of building construction and at the same time
built our buildings strong and robust.
1. Finding the new alternative material can reduce the cost of the
project
2. Saving the environment from dangerous waste

e) Findings will be help to control, manage and minimize the problem of waste
constructions materials.

f) Workers who involved in constructions will be apply a new system

management and controlling of waste constructions materials.

7. Scope of your study / Research

This study focus on waste material in civil engineering construction field in Shah
Alam, Selangor which are through interview and questionnaire about industrial waste
in construction field. The respondents of this study are the UiTM Shah Alam staff and
students. This analysis is done by India researchers.

8. Methodology
a) Primary data
i. Observation

ii. Questionnaire

b) Secondary data
