Outside novel - Presentation/SLE 6

Tentative Due Dates:

Grade 8: Presentations begin May 10 (This will replace your final exam.)
Grade 7: Presentations begin May 22
Grade 6: Presentations begin May 22

I. Objectives:

1. I will create a presentation in order to analyze the narrative structure of a

novel.

2. I will use digital media such as images, audio, and video in order to
present information.

II. Description of presentation

You will be creating a slide presentation based on a novel that you have
read outside of class. You will discuss some of the topics we have
mentioned in class this year as you guide us through the book.

II. Procedure

1. You will choose a novel from my recommended booklist. These have been
screened to meet Saint Peter and Paul’s community standards for appropriate
content. Any novel not on this list must be approved by me.

2. I have a selection of novels you will choose from. You will sign them out with
me.

3. You will read the novel and take Cornell Notes for every two chapters

Your notes for will be turned in over GoogleDocs the day you give your presentation.

5. You will then present this information on a slide presentation (using the Slides
program on Google Docs or a similar program). I will provide you some
guidance as to how you should prepare your presentation in the weeks ahead.
Your presentation will be emailed to me for grading. I will also be grading you
on your presentation skills (eye contact, posture, delivery, etc.)

6. I will be available Wednesdays after school for anyone who needs assistance.
This will go as three test grades, one for reading, one for language, and one
for spelling.
