The Aisin AW 81-40LE, Toyota A340E/F and A650E lockup relay
valves route converter feed fluid pressure to the release side of the converter clutch and apply
fluid into the cooler fluid circuit. Converter feed pressure at the lockup relay control plung-
er valve helps in proper positioning of the inboard lockup relay valve. Wear or sticking at
this plunger valve or sleeve can result in converter apply and release complaints, inadequate
lubrication, overheated fluid, bushing and solenoid failure, and converter codes. The tightly
toleranced drop-in replacement from Sonnax restores the proper hydraulic clearance to main-
tain proper function, and fits all three applications thru special port
