SEMI DETAILED LESSON PLAN


ENGLISH IX

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

A. CONTENT STANDARDS
The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and
other text types serve as means of connecting to the world; also how to use
ways of analysing one-act play and different forms of verbals for him/her to
skilfully perform in a one-act play.

B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The learner skilfully performs in one-act play through utilizing effective verbal and
non-verbal strategies and ICT resources based on the following criteria: Focus,
Voice, Delivery, and Dramatic Conventions.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES/OBJECTIVES:
The following objectives are to be achieved in the entire lesson:
1. EN9VC-IIIa1.2/2.2: Interpret the message conveyed in a material viewed
2. EN9LC-IIIa-6: Employ appropriate listening strategies suited to type of text
3. EN9LT-IIIa-16: Analyze literature as a means of connecting to the world.

IV. PROCEDURES:
A. Reviewing the previous lessons:
Asking the students to recap the last day lesson.
Instilling in the mind of students about the importance of the last lesson (Literary
devices)

Presenting the new lesson:


Motivation: Playing the different ring tones.
Asking the students about what they heard.

Gathering responses on how important the cell phone in day-to-day basis.

B. Establishing a Purpose for the lesson.

*Teacher will show a big cut-out picture of cell phone.


*The students will read silently the story line1 to be flashed on the screen via
Video presentation.

C. Presenting Examples/Instances of the lesson:


*Sharing of thoughts related to the presented story line.
* The students will be divided into 5 groups.
*Each group will be assigned to work on at least 4 advantages, disadvantages,
problems, discomforts, and stress that a cellphone may brings. ( 4 minutes
activity)
D. Discussing new concepts and new skills #1.
* Unlocking of difficulties through games by group.
* The group who gets highest score will get reward.
*The teacher will introduce the poem
For we shall stare at mobile phones.

* Brain storming of the message of the poem.
* Asking students about the problems met by staring at cellphone.

E. Discussing new concepts and new skills #2


* The teacher will presents a video presentation by www.daytodisconnect.com
*Emphasizing the meaning of the poem.
*Students will be asked to relate the video watched and the poem read.
* Elicit the importance of disconnecting cellphone for a greater life and
enjoyment.

F. Finding Practical Applications of Concepts and Skills in Daily Living


* Each group will pick a task to work on
The possible tasks:
1. Making Time line of the cellphone history
2. Acting out of scenario where students met accident due to
staring At cellphone.
3. Computation of daily expenses via loading.
4. Advertise new cellphone company.
5. Latest Cellphone invention
* Group Presentation
G. Making Generalizations and Abstractions about the Lesson
*Student will reflects on the proper uses of cellphone in day-to-day life.
H. Evaluating Learners
 Printed paper will be distributed

V. ASSIGNMENT.

Using our todays discussion make a short essay about the negative effects of cellphone
specifically on academic standings of students.
