LAYOUT SOFTWARE (MicroDraw)

MicroDraw is the PC software used to edit Micron layout files and set parameters.
After installation, you need at least to know:

Set USB Key drive letter

The software must know which drive letter to save the layout file to. Insert the USB
stick in the PC and locate the proper drive. Usually it will appear as "USB DRIVE"
or similar.
Then in MicroDraw set this under Settings. In this example, the USB stick will be
drive M:
The USB drive will hold one file, micron.dat, saved to the root

Create a date settings file

To set the date on the Micron, you need a special formatted file, micron.clk, saved to the root of the drive.
This file contains a date stamp used to set the date/time.

To create the file, insert USB stick and press the icon in the toolbar.

Save a layout
When you are done setting all parameters and designing, press the icon in the toolbar.

Basic operation of controller

Overview of buttons and LEDs on the MICRON control panel.
For a full guide of buttons and LEDs please refer to user manual.

[1] Start sensor. Lit when signal is

received.

[2] Encoder sensor. Lit when signal is

PRINT MODE received.

[3] SOLID = ON, ready
Blink fast = adjust start distance.

RESET COUNTER
[4] SOLID = PRINT MODE
Blink = confirm load / fault on load.

[5] Confirm reset

Preparing Printer
Update Date / Time
The Micron has an internal clock used to print date and time. Before installation, set time and date to your local place.

 Create a clock file on the USB using MicroDraw. Press USB+CLOCK icon. File will be Micron.clk
 Disconnect power
 Hold
 Connect power
 LED [1] and [2] will be constantly lit while updating time.

Print built-in test job

The Micron has a built-in test job loaded, for the internal sensor. This can be used to test function when unpacking.

 Insert ink cartridge

 Turn on power
 Start print
 Pass paper / product by internal sensor

Load a layout
When turned on the controller will detect if a USB key is inserted, and load a layout if possible. Otherwise, it will load from
internal memory. To load a new layout do the following:

 Make sure an ink cartridge is inserted and you are not in print mode
 Insert USB stick with layout stored from Microdraw.
 If a correct layout is found, it will be loaded. Green LED [3] will blink slowly
 Once the layout is loaded, the machine will be ready to use. Green LED [3] will become active and constantly lit.
The job is now stored in internal memory, and the USB stick can be removed. You can start print with the
new layout.
