URBAN SETTLEMENT DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

MINISTRY OF HOUSING, CONSTRUCTION AND CULTRUAL AFFAIRS

The key objective of the Urban Settlement Development Authority is to uplift the living
standard of the under-served, low-income dwellers in urban areas ensuring them a
sustainable Urban Settlement Development by developing existing housing units or
providing approach to better housing facilities and minimum urban facilities.

Since the contribution of professionals in the field of Human Settlement Development is

required to achieve these objectives, applications are invited from Sri Lankan citizens to
recruit on permanent basis for the following posts.

Educational Qualifications

A first degree in the relevant field of subject from a university recognized by the
University Grants Commission

with

A post graduate degree in the relevant field of subject,

And at least 15 years’ experience in a ‘Management Level’ post in a government, public

corporation, board, statutory institution or a recognized private institution.

Should be less than 35 years and not more than 55 years.

Salary scale is as per the Management Services Rs. 80,295 -15 x 2270- 114,345

02. Director (Engineering)

Educational Qualifications

(a) Master of Science Degree in Engineering obtained from a university recognized

by the University Grants Commission;
or
(b) Associate membership of a Chartered Engineering Institution;
with

At least 10 years of experience at managerial level in the Government or a

government institution, or government approved private establishment after
obtaining the degree.

Age - Not less than 35 or more than 55 years of age.

03. Assistant Director (Social Mobilization)

Educational Qualifications

(a) First Degree with Sociology as a subject obtained from a university

recognized by the University Grants Commission;

with

(b) At least 03 years of experience in handling social mobilization activities or

in any equivalent field in the Government or a government institution or a
government approved private establishment after obtaining the degree.

Other Qualifications

Two-year full time Diploma in Social Work (Sri Lanka School of Social
Work) of the National Institute of Social Development will be an added
qualification

Age - Not less than 25 or more than 45 years of age.

(Priority will be given to those who have experience in the field of urban
development and housing)

(iii) National Technical Certificate (Engineering / Quantity Surveying) or
a similar certificate in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying
obtained from a technical institute approved by the Government.

The Urban Settlement Development Authority has the discretionary authority

over selecting suitable persons. Maximum age limit will not be applied for the
applicants who are already in the service in Government Departments,
Government Corporations and Statutory Boards, and they should forward their
Applications through the Head of their institution.
