Narrator (Faith): The morning came, and the exile of Rama is bound to happen today.
The royal families, the Kosalas and the Videhas gathered together to bid their farewells
to the beloved eldest son of King Dasaratha. Rama headed towards her wife Sita.

Rama (Jomar): My dearly beloved wife, my journey to the pathless routes through the
forest of Dandak will begin today.

Sita (Aly): I want to come with you. Please let me come with you.

Rama (Jomar): You must stay here.

Sita (Aly): I don’t want you to wander alone. As your faithful wife, we must venture
through the forest together.

Rama (Jomar): While I am away, provide comfort and honour my father and my mother.
Be a kind daughter to them, give them love and serve them wholeheartedly.

King Dasaratha (Amiel): Worry no more, my son. We will take care good care of your
wife too.

Rama (Jomar): Thank you, Father. *harap kay Aly* As for my Brothers, be their sister
and companion. Provide them the love of an older sibling and guide them always in all
of their actions and decisions.

Bharat (Amiel): We will treat your dear Sita as the eldest among us. We will protect her
in any ways that we can.

Rama (Jomar): Thank you, Brother. *harap kay Aly ulit* As for Queen Kaikeyi and
Queen Surnitra, provide them equal respect and serve each of them. Lastly, provide our
people equal support and serve them well. For this journey, I will fulfill my father’s
promise to his queen, to venture through the pathless woods, is my own duty.
Narrator (Faith): Astounded by her husband’s words, Sita responded to him:

Sita (Aly): Do I hear you right? Does these words just came from my beloved Rama?
You know that I will not abandon you. It will be a great privilege to fulfill all of the duties
that you just said to me, but I can’t let you go alone. To venture through the forest with
you is what I will choose to do. Do you remember the vows that we shared during our
wedding?

Rama (Jomar): I remember them clearly.. but—

Sita (Aly): For I, your faithful wife, will follow you wherever you may lead. Your
banishment, is the proclamation of my exile too. I will fall and rise, together with you. If
you will dreary venture the forest of Dandak, I will stand before you to be your aid along
the way. For my father and mother taught me, that the home of a wedded woman is by
her husband’s side.

Rama (Jomar): It will be too dangerous for you to come with me. I will go to many
places.

Sita (Aly): I will choose to rove the pathless woods with you, than to stay in a palace
without your presence. I will choose to suffer with you.

Rama (Jomar): It will be better for you to just stay here, where you will be safe and live
a comfortable life.

Sita (Aly): What’s the thought on living in comfort without you, my dear? That’s not what
matters to me, what matters to me is that I want to be with you all the way. I will choose
to live in the jungle, where we can both share our love.

Rama (Jomar): Oh my beloved Sita. Thank you so much for everything.

Narrator (Faith): Sita’s heartfelt words and dedication struck Rama’s heart. He decided
to take along her wife to his long journey.
