Self-Reflective Essay

My final essay was about the growing relationship about humans and Artificial

Intelligence. I wrote in the affirmative that AI will help human kind rather than destroy it, like

we see in sci-fi.

One thing I hoped to accomplish is to ease the mind of people who do have an concern.

Technology is growing exponentially and its overwhelming to many people. We worry about

robots taking over jobs and making humans less intelligent. But a lot of this speculation is based

on fear rather than actual information.

My first draft I focused on just AI potential, nothing else. But after deep diving into my

research it also deals with robots as well. So As my revisions when on I incorporated robots

alongside AI.

I engaged deeply in the peer review. I read people's thoughts on my essay and took it

with trying to better my paper. I think a lot of what they gave me was helpful in achieving my

final draft.

This course connects with my other courses on that I need to research and learn things on

my own to get an idea of what i’m writing or doing. I knew a lot about AI in the beginning of

writing this paper. But when I actually dove deep into the scholarly papers, there was a lot that

was unknown.

It impacted me because at one point I was scared of AI and what it could do. I would

watch famous people like Elon Musk talk about how bad it can get. But I didn’t want to have an

opinion without research.

The main challenge was content. Although AI is a massive topic to write about. You need

to have some understanding of what it is. And I understood that my audience may no know

everything I would know. So I had to choose wisely on what I was going to talk about.

I always try to make my writing clear and to the point. I may not always be successful but

I try my hardest. If one thing I think that a lot of people can view my writing without any

hardship of understanding.

I put a lot of time and effort into writing my final essay. It took a lot of research and

understanding to put all of it together. On the basis of research and time I would give myself a A.

On the actual content and writing I would say a B. I tried to be clear and concise. But I

understand that I have flaws in writing but I try my hardest. Although, this course has helped me

a lot with many of my flaws thanks to Professor Parrys feedback and reading I have done.
