Traveling Your “Personal Legend”

Final Project
Worth 200 pts. Due: April 23, 2019

This project is designed for you to take that physical journey on your way to your personal fulfillment. Each step
of this process will also help you understand the difficulties of travel as well as the benefits of adventures to many
different places around our country and world. Have fun exploring those places you dream of from the comfort of
your Chromebook.

What you need to know.

For this project you will only have a $6,500 to spend. You can travel wherever you would like on this journey in the
world but take heed-- you only have so much to spend. How you choose to travel and where you choose to stay and visit
will affect what you can do.

There will be three parts to this assignment: the proposal, your project, and your concluding explanation. Every day
you will have the opportunity to work on it in class but there might be days where you will have to take parts home to
complete at home.

Part One: Proposal

This is where you explain what your plan for the upcoming parts of the project. Should be one page double
spaced, Times New Roman, and one-inch margin.

1. This document should explain the websites or sources where you will get the information of expenses,
(transportation, places of travel, food, ect.).
a. The source should be a short summary of what is found on these websites.
2. This will also list the FOUR cities and countries you will visit.
3. The type of project you will complete.
4. What issues you might run in to.
5. What your personal fulfillment from this journey might be.

Part Two: Project

You have three options to choose from based on what you feel are your strengths or interests.

1. Google Tour Builder- This is a website that partners with Google Earth. Here you can place pins on the cities
that you would like to visit and add commentary and pictures to highlight those places you plan to visit on
your journey.
a. Including your starting destination, you should have at least five cities included in your digital tour.
b. Every city you stop will have mini written blurbs about what you would do there and images of those
activities.
2. Travel Brochure- Here is an activity for those who feel they are in touch with their artistic side. This should be
a trifold poster/paper that maps out all of the destinations on your journey.
a. It will include expenses and the methods of travel (as those will have to be included in a package deal
for those who would follow). It will have to include images and color. Make it attractive enough that
someone will want to pick it up and read!
b. As for the Google tour you are required to have at least FIVE cities on your brochure.
c. Include methods of travel, fun food places, etc.
3. “Personal Legend” Fiction- This option is for those of you who prefer writing about their journey.
a. This will be a three-page, double spaced story of your journey.
b. Create your own five city adventure and talk about the obstacles you face with the money provided
on your journey.

*For all options you must include a sources page*

Part Three: Concluding Explanation

This will be where you tie everything together. You will write a 375-word explanation of your project
It will include:

1. Why those destinations were picked.

2. An explanation of why each destination was essential to your Personal legend.
3. What was your personal legend and how it was fulfilled in this trip?
4. The difficulties you face with this project.
5. The exciting moments/most enjoyable moments of the project.
