In Chapter 5 is the design example of a 110-storey building. Sears Tower at Chicago is taken as an
illustration. The bundled tube structure (in structural steel) is analyzed on Staadpro programme. The input listings
for various load cases are given. Basic load data for static and wind loads is taken from the available literature on

Dear Er.Sukanta.adhikari,
It is good to get respond from you. I am expecting more experts on this topic to shed more information and
help fellow engineers and also to increase more knowledge to me.
Also engineers posting on STAAD to post under this and not in other places under different topics and no other
subjects shall be posted so that this will not get mixed up.

Shree Adhikari Sir
This is regarding your post related to thickness of pilecap and its rigid behaviour.....i have seen the files you have
used but this behaviour greatly influenced by dia of pile ,spacing and arrangement of piles wrt to pile cap and CG
of load application. In all cases there will be a different type of analysis approach.
The staad model you have given contain piles as a point support which are in actual a area support. This
simulation can be carried out much better in other softwares like SAFE.
I will also try to work on above said issues and will post my result on forum.
Thank you for starting this discussion.
