Pastor’s Notes
OUR FUTURE IS
BRIGHT!!!!! I was so
blessed by the service on
Sunday morning. Our children did a
WONDERFUL job leading us in worship!
We had young people playing instruments,
singing, taking up the offering, leading us in
prayer, reciting scripture….WOW!!!!! We
are blessed!!!!! Special thanks to Donna & Garren and all the staff of workers they have.
This would not be possible without the faithful and dedicated service of so many people.
I cannot tell you how important it is for our children to be involved in the worship
activities. They need to know that we are called to serve the Lord and that Church is an
awesome place to use your gifts and abilities for the Lord. That’s also good for adults to
know too! Church is a wonderful place to use YOUR gifts and abilities for the Lord.
Just about every ministry is looking for helpers. The Children’s Ministry needs workers,
the Kidz Kafe` needs workers, the Youth Ministry needs workers….. WE NEED YOU!
Here’s what you need to understand: 1) We need people that are saved! To teach,
you need to be saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. 2) You need to be a
member of the church (might be some things you can do as helpers, but to teach you
must be a member), 3) You must be faithful in attendance and financial support
(you teach not only by what you say but WHAT YOU DO!) We have many qualified
people who might be gifted to teach, but they have never joined the church. PLEASE, if
this church is where you attend and are fed, if this church is where you give your tithes
and offerings, WHY NOT JOIN WITH US? If you are not faithful, START THIS
WEEK! If you do not support the church financially, COME ON BOARD!!!!! You will
never know the full blessings of God until you are obedient in every area of your life.
That includes teaching or being involved if He has called you, being faithful in worship at
His House and giving of your financial gifts. The Lord said it best, “PROVE ME AND
SEE IF I WILL NOT OPEN UP THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN POUR YOU OUT A
BLESSING THAT THERE SHALL NOT BE ROOM ENOUGH TO RECEIVE IT”.

If membership has been the hang up, good news!

We are having an opportunity for church
membership this Sunday!!!! If you would like to
unite with the church, meet with Pastor Terry
Sunday Morning at 9:30 in the Christian Life Center.
Go to the door marked “STAFF”, enter through the
door and go straight into the room you see as you
enter. In advance, WELCOME!!!!!!!
We aren’t promoting “Halloween”. We
are for the safety of our Children and we
love the opportunity for fellowship. Free
hotdogs for everyone and free candy give
away for the kids. Let’s show the LOVE
OF JESUS! If you will decorate you car,
see Donna Burdette.

OCTOBER 30th, 5:00 - 7:00PM

We have 3 opportunities to take our church and ministries outside the walls of our church
and minister to our Community. Please mark your calendar and plan on being involved:

1) Work the Community Clothes Closet. We are manning the

clothes closet the month of November. If we have enough
people willing to serve, you might only have to work 1 hour. It
is a wonderful opportunity to talk to the people as you check
them out…I always ask them about where they attend church and
if they don’t, I take time to talk to them about church and the
Lord! Sign up today on the sign up sheet in the hall of the main
church complex or see Alysia Hayes.

2. Helping to feed the Fellowship of Christian

Athletes. On Wednesday morning, November 17th, we
will be feeding the FCA of Woodruff High School. We
need help in getting the drinks prepared, laying all the
food out and most of all, being a smiling, Christ filled
presence! This will be held in Woodruff 1st Baptist
Church Fellowship Area (same as last year). If you would
like to help, see Pastor Terry.

3. Working the Soup Kitchen. On Tuesday, December 21 st, we

will be responsible for helping to serve at the Soup Kitchen here in
Woodruff. The location is the gym of Woodruff Church of God of
Prophesy. The meal will be served at 5:30. We also are in charge
of the program that night as well as kids program. What a
wonderful door as this will be their last evening meal at the soup
kitchen before Christmas. I’d love to show them a true outpouring
of love on that day. Would you be willing to help? Mark your
calendars and I will mention this again later.
BABY DEDICATION is planned for Sunday,
November 21st during the AM service. Please understand,
that baby dedication is a very spiritual thing. It is an act of
presenting the baby to the Lord with the understanding that
the one’s presenting the baby will be responsible for the
spiritual nurturing and upbringing of the baby. For that to
happen, the people bringing the child to the Lord need to
be believer’s themselves (are at least one of them). I hope
you understand. Please make sure that you meet the
criteria before committing to this. Once you know that the
spiritual side if covered, make sure you contact the church office (476-2977) and give the
proper information to our secretary.
