In this days, Development of technology has lead to tremendous usage of the

Internet. As a result, companies are receiving -increasing- ( two verbs in gerund

maybe not) more and more capacity of data everyday despite the relevancy. It is
the business analyst’s job to filter the data with its usefulness and organize them
to make decision-making process more efficient. I believe the postgraduate
course of business analytics will provide me the skill required to convert Big Data
into a precious asset for the firm. It is my primary goal for applying postgraduate
study to prepare myself in the future career of becoming a business analyst. I
appreciate the programme of the course combing practical sessions with the
theoretical part. I also hope to gain (achieve ) (develop) more experience on the
popular analytics software through carrying out projects.

My joint degree in Accounting and Finance at Durham University has provided

me a solid foundation for future study. The study in financial econometrics has
enabled me to get familiar with analytics software such as PCGive and Eviews.
While cooperate finance course has introduced me financial software like
Bloomberg and Datastream. I found econometrics intriguing (interesting maybe)
and decided to apply it as methodology in my final year dissertation to evaluate
the relationship between director’s competence and decision-making. My
one-year study aboard experience in Switzerland uplifted me with the
opportunity to try something new( improved myself to be able to take risks and
not to be afraid to try something new) . I had an insight in heuristic
decision-making and psychological foundations of Economics. I also developed a
clear overview on the operation of business by working on Enterprise Resource
Planning System from the supply side process to demand side process. Apart
from that, I took part (in the project) in a project on examining the impact of
European integration to market performance by sectors in Sweden through
STATA software. These courses have enhanced my capability of problem solving. I
have also accumulated essential analytic and quantitative skills. With my
knowledge in quantitative techniques, I am confident that the postgraduate study
offered by your university will concrete ( complement) my understandings as
well as bringing me more specified skills. Furthermore, I am convinced that the
career support combined with the prestigious academic teaching of Edingburg
University will turn me into a professional analyst.

I consider myself outgoing. I am interested in volunteering and I have joined

several volunteers programs during my studies at United Kingdom and
Switzerland. I also gained a lot of enjoyments in travelling. Instead of visiting the
place of interest, markets are always my favorite spot. I believe that market is the
best place to feel the city. I’ve visited the market in Edingburg during my study in
United Kingdom, I was stunned deeply by variety of artists’ performances and
diversity of exquisite shops. I was in love of Edingburg since then. I sincerely
