Rating Disposition: Comments: (Rating of U or D requires a comment)
(circle)
A 1. being present, punctual, and I have learned that there is no other option than to be present, punctual and present
D prepared with young children, like toddlers. When I walk into the classroom, the toddlers
U are in a routine and it can be thrown off if I am late. Not being prepared not only
throws me off but the success of the children. As a future teacher, this will be a
very important disposition to remember as I am not only responsible for myself
but the children in my classroom as well.

A 2. presenting appropriate I’ve always tried to present an appropriate professional appearance/demeanor

D professional while working in the classroom and even out of the classroom. Considering we are
U appearance/demeanor role models to the children it is important to always be professional and
appropriate, but also because we are in a profession where it is so important. As a
teacher children and families will forever be in our lives inside and outside of the
classroom. We need to always be appropriate professional behavior, because if not
it could impact our careers.

A 3. clear and accurate oral I definitely have grown in my oral skills. Because I am so confident with my self
D communication skills and my teaching abilities, I find that being clear and accurate in my oral skills has
U improved immensely with other adults but also children.
A 4. clear and accurate written I have been thorough with trying to improve my written communication skills. I
D communication skills think my writing as a whole has improved in papers and other assignments, but
U also in communicating with teachers back and forth through email.
A 5. integrity and accepting Accepting responsibility for my own actions and integrity are huge for me. No
D responsibility for own actions matter the situation, taking accountability for my own actions and integrity is so
U important.
A 6. working cooperatively and Working cooperatively and collaboratively has been such a supportive tool in all
D collaboratively aspects of this semester. Communication with my educators and other adults in the
U classroom has helped me in decision making, advice, and supports when I needed
them. I couldn’t imagine doing this on my own. Knowing that as a lead teacher
you will most likely have those other adults in the room as supports, having those
connections/relationships with faculty/staff/peers and having that support is
crucial.
A 7. respect, empathy, and caring Respect is an aspect I value highly. To get respect you need to give respect or it
D for others won’t be given to you. Empathy and caring are also important especially working
U with younger kids. They need empathy and to be cared for you get your trust and
to feel comfortable making those relationships with you.

A 8. being open to diverse Being open to diverse perspectives and backgrounds is very important to be able
D perspectives and backgrounds to understand and adapt to children’s lifestyles and needs. Coming into the world
U of hopefully being a lead teacher of my own, this is a very important disposition to
always grow and expand in. Being diverse to all backgrounds and perspective
from children and their families and even new teaching styles is extremely
important.
A 9. exhibiting enthusiasm and If you are not enthusiastic and passionate for students and teaching then there will
D passion for students and teaching be a good chance you will not be good at your job as well as you could be.
U Bringing it into the classroom if you aren’t enthusiastic and passionate it is very
easy for children to pick up on that and it then carries over to them with
enthusiasm and passion to learn. If they see you modeling enthusiasm and passion
they will do the same and be excited to learn.
A 10. working diligently to achieve Working diligently to achieve success has been one of my main goals this
D success semester. I have worked hard to complete all assignments on time to the best of
U my ability, be successful as a future teacher, and support the children in being as
successful as they can be.
A 11. recognizing the legal and I feel the most comfortable I have ever felt in this area of the disposition. Finally
D ethical obligations of the being to focus and take part in this part of the disposition has made me understand
U profession it. I am the most knowledgeable I have ever been in all my experiences here at
KSC. I am much more familiar with the legal and ethical obligations of this
profession.
A 12. committing to the pursuit of Along with the last one I have finally felt confident in this area as I am ending my
D professional growth and final semester. At this point, the commitment to the pursuit of professional growth
U development and development is huge. Committing to professional growth is big now that
student teaching is done and we are headed into the “real” world, on our own as a
teacher in a sense.
