4.1 CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background Indonesia requires human resources in sufficient
numbers and quality as principal supporters in the construction. To meet the human resource,
education has a very important role. National Education serves to develop the ability to form
character and the civilization of the peoples dignity in the framework of the intellectual life of the
nation. 1 national education aimed at the development of potential learners to become man of faith
and piety to God Almighty, precious, healthy, have learned, accomplished, creative, independent,
and become citizens of a democratic and accountable. Based on the function and purpose of
national education, it is clear that education at every level, including at the school should be held
systematically in order to achieve that goal. It is related to the formation of the character so that the
