Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This activity is introduced using an audio file which is useful for students
who struggle with reading or have visual impairments that prevent them from reading. For those with
auditory impairments there is also a transcript available.

Lesson idea implementation: This flipped classroom activity requires students to listen to the audio file (or
read the transcript) for instructions on the at-home activity. Students are instructed to do a “shape search” in
which they are looking for objects around their environment that are in the shape of a circle, triangle,
rectangle, or square. After finding the shape, they are instructed to draw a picture of the object they found in
the correct place on the worksheet.

Importance of technology: A classroom blog bridges the gap between the classroom and student families’.
Dependent on how frequent the teacher uses the blog, families can have an extra look into the classroom
with just a click of a button. In addition, classroom blogs are accessible on multiple devices which make it easy
to access on-the-go.
Inspiration (optional): N/A

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: When creating blogs, users need to be mindful on the content that is
being posted. There are people that will violate our students’ privacy if we give them the chance. To avoid
this, we can password-protect our content giving out certain information to our students’ families.

Reflective Practice: I found this activity to be fun as students get to her my voice outside of school. I would
prefer the idea of interactive homework rather than a packet of work. In addition, this creates conversation in
the classroom when students return the next day.
