Lesson aims:
To activate vocabulary associated to friendship
To practice speaking, reading and writing skills
Materials: blackboard, student`s book, sayings.

Activity 1
Interaction: T-sts; St-T
Timing: 5 min
Aims: To get sts used to the atmosphere
To check homework
Materials: homework
Procedure:
The teacher checks homework and students correct mistakes, if
necessary.
Expected difficulties: Students are expected to make mistakes in their
homework.

Activity 2
Interaction: T-sts; St-T
Timing: 10 min
Aims: To practice speaking skills
To introduce the theme of the lesson: Friendship
To activate vocabulary associated to frienship
To raise awareness to the complex idea of frienship
Materials: blackboard, sayings
Procedure:
The teacher announces the topic of the new lesson and she reads out loud different
sayings related to the idea of friendship and asks students to comment on the notion of
friendship. The teacher asks students questions related to friendship and what it
represents for them.
Expected difficulties: Students may not be able to talk about the subject and they are
expected make some mistakes when trying to express themselves.

Activity 3: (reading)
Interaction: T-sts; St-T ;St-St
Timing: 20 min
Aims: To practice reading skills, to activate vocabulary associated to friendship
Organization: pair work, individual work
Materials: blackboard, student`s book
Procedure:
The teacher asks students to read the article and ellicits the meanings of the words in
bold
The teacher writes down the meanings of the words in bold.
The teacher asks students questions related to the text in order to make sure that they got
the general idea.
In pairs students are asked to circle the correct answer at the exercise from page 87.
Sts give their answers
Expected difficulties: Students might spend too much time solving the
assignment. The sts might not know the significance of all the words.
The teacher might find it necessary to give students some clues.

Activity 4: (post-reading activity)

Timing:10 min
Aims: to practice writing skills
to reinforce vocabulary associated to friendship
Organization: individual work
Materials: student`s book
Procedure: Teacher asks students to write down the story that made them best friends
with another person and they are asked to use as many words in bold from the article as
possible.

Activity 5
Homework: 5 min
Teacher briefly revises the topics, assigns and explains the homework:
Make 10 sentences with the words learnt in the lesson.
