End Of Year Review

Future Plans and Goals

As I reflect on my year in Spanish III, I feel that I have plentiful amounts of goals that I
still need to accomplish for myself, as well as to end my high school career. The following goals
that I want to accomplish in Spanish are: continue to grow my Spanish vocabulary, create proper
sentences, and pass the Advanced Placement (AP) exam. First, as I advance to AP Spanish
Language, I want to continue to grow my Spanish vocabulary. So far, I have been familiarized
with the list of vocabulary words from Spanish I and Spanish II, however I don't know a lot of
words that can help me build my sentences efficiently. Second, I want to create proper sentences
that enables me to “fit in” with Native speakers and get my thought across to other people.
Finally, I wanted to continue my Spanish-speaking career, because I want to pass the AP exam
and receive the bilingual medallion at the end of my senior year. With the bilingual medallion, I
can prove to colleges and future employers my acquired skill of speaking Spanish.

For this year, I feel that I have progressively met my goals from the beginning of the
year. At this moment, I am able to form mild sentences and basic questions that could be asked
simply for needs. However, I feel that I need more improvement, because I don’t completely
conjugate the verb that fits along with my line of thought. In addition, I don’t understand when to
use the certain verb tense in my sentence, due to ignorance and in order to do this, I need to ask
questions and look over my notes. However, what I have accomplished is the understanding of a
conversation and what the conversation is about. Nonetheless, I am willing to improve my skill
set of Spanish to help me become a better speaker.

Portfolio Synopsis
My portfolio represents the improvement that I have made throughout my journey in Spanish III.
In addition, each part of my portfolio reflects on the events that have happened during my junior
year through pictures. I chose the writing assignments that have been published on the portfolio,
because I feel that these were the writing assignments that were written genuinely from my heart.
I wanted to improve on these writings so that I can show people my work from my third year in
Spanish. My writing changed partially over the years, because I feel that I expanded my
vocabulary and grammar review from Spanish III. However, I still form simple sentences and
questions that are still basic in the Spanish language. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed making the
portfolio, because I am able to be creative and showcase my hard work to others. What I would
have changed is the way that I designed my website. If I were to manage my time better, I would
focus on making my own design for my portfolio, instead of using a default template from
Weebly.
Final Reflection

To reflect on my journey during Spanish III, I feel that I have put a lot of effort into my
workload during my Spanish class. Based on my exhibited work, I feel that I showed a lot of
effort into my work, because I corrected my mistakes from my original documents. I still feel
like I need more growth and development into my writing, because as I have said before, I still
develop simple sentences with not a lot of detail. But, in comparison to Spanish I and II, Spanish
III expanded my knowledge of the verb tenses that enable me to talk to past experiences, future
goals, and present activities. With that in mind, I feel that I should still work on switching verb
tenses to efficiently share my thoughts to the person who I am conversing with. Another aspect
that I should improve is the grammar aspect by understanding the syntax of sentences and word
placement in a sentence. I feel that I lack in putting words and conjunctions properly in the
sentence, so the reader or listener is unable to properly read the writing or understand what I am
asking. Ultimately, I have gained useful knowledge and expanded my Spanish knowledge, but I
still need more growth and improvement to aid in my Spanish career.
