Section 5 – Safety Brief

ICARUS Training Services is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of employees, learners
and all other visitors under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

For your safety and the safety of others, please take a few moments to read this briefing.

1. On arrival, please sign in to the visitor register available at reception
2. Please take reasonable care of your own and other peoples’ health and safety
3. Please observe all safety signs and comply with reasonable safety directions provided by staff
4. Violent, threatening and other unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated
5. Smoking, alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted on premises
6. All hazards, incidents and injuries must be reported to an employee. Limited first aid treatment is
available onsite.
7. In an emergency, dial 000 for fire, police and ambulance services; or dial 2222 if within NSW
Health facilities
8. In the event of an evacuation, follow the directions of staff. Emergency evacuation information is
located around the office.
9. Please inform staff if you do not wish to participate in skill activity due to cultural or medical
reasons
10. Be kind and respectful of others
11. Handle all blood products, sharps and materials as directed by your trainer
12. Dispose of any contaminated items in appropriate receptacle
