MY DIGITAL LIFE

TV:
I watch TV on my SkyBox and on Netflix. I spend about 10 hours on
Netflix and about 16 hours on Sky a week. I think I spend the right
amount of time on these two a week and I think it’s the appropriate
amount of time for everyone my age.

Apps:
Some of my favourite apps on my phone are Snapchat,
Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Snapchat is a social media
platform that you can use to snap and chat to your friends
with. I use this for about 2 hours a week. Insatgram is
another social media platform that you can use to post
pictures or videos you take or find to your own page and
people can like, comment and share. I spend about 3 hours
on this a day. Twitter is another social media platform that
you can tweet and all your friends can see them and retweet.
I spend about 30 minutes in this a week. Facebook is another
social media platform where you can talk to friends and it has
a market place where you can buy things of people. I spend
about 1 hour on this a day. I think this is an appropriate
amount of time on these apps.
Websites:
Some of my favourite websites are Wikipedia, Club Penguin, Spotify
and Youtube. I spend about 1 hour on Wikipedia, 1 hour on Club
Penguin, 3 hours on Spotify and 6 hours on YouTube. I think I spend
too long on YouTube but the others are a reasonable amount of
time. All together I spend 37 and a half hours on all of my devices.
I think that it is not due to screen time alone but lack of exercise and
bad diet will also lead to the statistic by The World Health
Orgonisation that by 2025 58% of Ireland’s citizens will be obese.
I spend 4 days a week playing rugby and spend about 30 minutes on
an exercise bike a day. I think this is an appropriate amount of time
to exercise a week for my age group. My Dad takes part in helping in
drills at rugby and uses our exercise every second day.
I do not think that parents spend more time online unless they work
in a job that requires them to work online for most of the day.
I think online shopping and messages has decreased the usefulness
of post offices has gone down because you don’t have to pay for a
message but you do have to for posting mail.
I think that most people will work from home in the next ten years
because you don’t have to pay for transport cost and it is way
handier because you don’t have to go anywhere.
