Personal Statement
- School name, research interests, ties to research interests changed but skeleton stays the same
- 1/100 chance
- Want to write down long statement and cut it down
- Make it like a story
- Write about your impact on the project and the outcome of it, if anything
- Positive spin on what you like
- What did you learn from it
- No clichés like “I want to help ppl”
- Nothing like I want to be a clinical psychologist
- Specify your interests without being overwhelming
- Get ppl to proofread it
- Get other personal statements from labs, grad students, profs who have accepted students,
