5th grade The Highland Games at Highland Friday, May 17 (rain day Monday, May 20) We are planning another great field day for the kids. Please let us know if you will be able to join us! Students should arrive to school as normal - dressed to be outside all day. Please consider closed-toe shoes and socks - there will be lots of running. Apply any necessary sunscreen and bug spray before arriving at school. We will have some available to reapply as needed. Parents can meet at Highland as early at 7:30 to get things started. Please bring bug spray or sunscreen if you can. Upon arrival at school, students will change into their tie-dyed Class of 2026 t-shirts and begin their day by ringing the bell in the courtyard at Highland. Representatives from Walgreens will be on hand to take each students picture as they ring the bell and a picture of each homeroom class. These free pictures will be handed out after the Recognition Ceremony on 5/22, with report cards. The Highland Games activities include: Tug of War, Water Balloon tosses, Egg On Spoon races, sack races, and similar outdoor recreation competitions by homeroom. Lunch will be between 11-12. We are serving pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or sausage), assorted chips, apple slices from McDonald's, and freeze pops. Gatorade will be provided at lunchtime. Water will be available all day for students. Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle.
