Reflection Essay

In English 114A , it has been a long journey throughout this course and i as well learned

some pretty interesting things along the way too. In high school i wasn’t much of a good writer

but i have always loved to write and read don’t get me wrong. I love to write poetry and when i

was a young girl in elementary i would write a lot of comic books . I didn’t take high school so

serious when i was there and some of my teachers didn’t really took my work really seriously as

well. In English 114A i believe that i have grew a lot through time and taking matters into my

own hands. I also believe that i have been more responsible into turing in my work in time. In

this class i believe that i have grown more mature and as well believe that i have improved in my

writing skills throughout time. Being in this class has taught me a lot of things especially on

knowing how to write in a college level and as time went by being in this class i believe that i

have grown into a better writer.

In this class i learned a lot in how to write essays. Throughout my high school experience

i have always had my grades in a decent matter. They were never to low or never to high. But

whenever it came to my writing in my english class i always focused in writing a good and

interesting essay but i never double check my work or corrected my errors that my essay might

have needed to make it even better. When i came into this class it helped me focus more on my

errors and double check my work because i did need a lot of help making a somewhat perfect

essay. I as well learned how to do my intros a bit better then how i would start before because in

my intros i would not make the paragraph flow i would just go straight to the point . I believe

that this class as well helped me with learned how to do a better essay. With the professor being

more on us in or work also helped me be more on top of my work. Throughout this class i

believe that i have improved a lot in my writing and as a college student as well. Since some of

the assignments were to go to the LRC (Learning Resource Center), it helped me be more social

and as well get me off my comfort zone. It made me realize a lot of things like not being afraid to

ask for help when you really need it. Being in this class also helped me better understand what

ethos, pathos, and, logos really are and how they can be written in your essay without you even

knowing. I also think that my thesis sentences have better improved throughout this course as

well.

Being in this course i learned as well very interesting things and have done some

interesting things as well. In English 114A last semester the professor wasn't so much fun as the

professor i have this semester. I loved the fact that we started off with a poem and we worked on

for a couple of days in class. Being a fan of poetry i believe that it was interesting to learn more

on the poem that we were assigned to read. What i also found very interesting that later in the

semester we needed up talking about happiness and did essays about as well. Throughout the

year being in college i have through alot but being in class taught me as well to stay strong and

learn how to be happy. As well learn what others think happiness really is about. Being a kind of

student that is very unorganized and very hectic when comes to doing my work i learned a lot

being more interested interested in doing my work because of this class. I learned that if we stay

in top of things ourselves then we can learn that it is much easier for us to get through college.

As i continue to learn many things in this class i also learned s well to present in class, don't get

me wrong i have presented in front of a lot of people before and have made a speech for my

graduating class. But in english 114A has given me the the opportunity to be more confident

front of people and not be nervous because we are all in the same situation.

In English 114A i survived the course, i'm also leaving the class in better writing skills

and as well better comprehend the styles of writing a good essay. Being in this class taught me

alot in being responsible with my work and as well triple check my work. This class also showed

many things that are going to help me in my future. I tend to get out of this class with better

skills of writing and learning to have fun with it as well. I also believe that double checking my

work helped me alot because at first it didn't really matter to me, but after re-reading my work i

couldn't understand what i was talking about in my essays. I understand the basic things into

organizing my essays and as well learn to not plagiarize my work. I learned many things in this

class like how to work cite and fixing my errors. Rereading our work is very important in english

class because it teaches us that we can mess up along the way and its okay we just have to look

back and understand that we are not always right. A wise professor once told me “ with great

power comes with a lot of responsibility” and i took that underconsideration and never gave up

in trying to do better in my work. Words are powerful but when they are written in paper they

tend to be more powerful. This class is going to be a memory but a useful one throughout my

journey in college. Ill one day look back and remember all the things that i have learned in

English 114A.
