have our planning periods I like
to ask questions pertaining to
the way I teach. She has been
teaching for 20 years so I pick
her mind on different styles of
teaching. One thing that the
classroom teachers share with
us is student’s academic support
plans. Student’s academic
support plans contains
information on students and any
accommodations that they may
need when taught. I review
student’s academic support
plans when needed.

am continually looking for
ways to be a more effective

My partner has been
teaching for 30 years, so
every time I teach, I
usually ask her for
feedback or if there is
anything that she would
have done differently.
9/25/17

I maintain a relationship with

my old master teacher. My old
master teacher has been
teaching for 25 years. He
provides me with tools and
activities that I may bring into
my own classroom. I like to
observe his classes and take
notes on how he teaches his
students. One thing that I
learned from him is that
learning never stops. He makes
sure that when he teaches, he
takes his time to teach the
lesson and if he runs out of
time, he makes sure to continue
it the next day. He also teaches
activities called “Play fit.” Play
fit activities are activities that
students participate in and are
constantly moving. His objective
with play fit is to have the
students work hard and have
fun participating. 5/7/18

One thing that I've done is

connect with teachers from
our school's network as well
as teachers from other

on certain things as well as
any lessons and ideas that
they have seen that have
worked well in their

For physical education, I teach

my students that they can be
active outside of school as well.
Across the street from my
school is a local park. The local
park has various facilities that
the students can use such as
tennis courts, basketball courts,
and volleyball courts. I teach my
students that if their parents are
available, they can take them to
the park and use the facilities.
Students are encouraged to be
physically active not only during
PE class, but also outside of
school. My goal for my students
is for them to live a healthy and
active lifestyle. 5/7/18

I've reached out to our

communities in the past and
have had a lot of success. For
example, when I teach a unit
on pilates, I reach out to
a pilates instructor to teach a
portion of my unit. I also bring
back alumni that are involved
in high school sports to
speak about the opportunities
that they may have when they
leave my school.

Using my agenda, I
make sure to mark
all deadlines and
such. I will also use
the administration
for support if ever
needed. 9/25/17
Maintaining motivation is
currently something I am
working with. This year is my
first year being the athletic
director for my school’s sports
programs. I make sure that I am
on top of everything and I end
my day at 6pm if I can. I also
like to use the weekend as
relaxation days. My relaxation
days consists of recovering and
reflecting. As a physical
education teacher, I spend most
of days on my feet so I really
enjoy the weekends. I also
reflect on how the week went
and what I can do to improve if
needed.
5/7/18
One thing that I've found
since I've begin this semester
was that I am a bit more
organized now. Being able to
log activities and
keep parents updated have
allowed me to have more time
for myself.

As a teacher, one way

that I've found that has
kept me motivated was
to talk with my mentor
teachers. Being able to
communicate and
connect with veteran
teachers have allowed
me to learn from them.
