JOB DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINCIPAL

The Principal leads and manages the day to day operation of his/her Department. As
one of the members of the ManCom, he/she provides the linkage between the faculty and the
Director.

The Principal plans, directs and coordinates the operations of his/her Department.
He/she plans and maintains system and procedure for operating efficiency. He/she manages
his/her personnel for optimum performance.

Functions

I. Institutional Requirements
A. Submission of Reports (15%)

1. Writes Daily Work Journal. (5%)


2. Prepares and submits Evidence Folder for OBPES (Outcome-Based Performance
Evaluation System). (5%)
3. Submits OBPES spreadsheet. (5%)

Department Academic Preparation


1. Corrects , rates and approves crafted/updated UbD Stage 2
2. Corrects, rates and approves enriched UbD of Stages 1, 2 & 3
3. Consolidates the result of the Diagnostic and Post Test
4. Formulates and implements the Homeroom Program
5. Corrects, rates and approves Homeroom Learning Plan

Instructional Supervision
1. Conducts Walkthrough Class Observation
2. Conducts Formal Class Observation
3. Conducts the checking of teachers’ attendance in the class
4. Conducts and evaluates Student Evaluation of Teachers

Department Periodical Test Preparation


1. Corrects, rates and approves Tale of Specification and Periodical Test
Questions
2. Corrects, rates and approves Test Bank
3. Consolidates the exam permit of the students during the 1st day of exam

Department Post Periodical Test Output


1. Corrects, rates and approves Class Records
2. Corrects, rates and approves Grading Sheets
3. Corrects and submits Academic Council Documents

Year-end Desired Outcome


1. Improves Academic winnings (Inter-school competitions)

Daily Routine
1. Monitors the tardiness and absences of teachers and staff and take
appropriate action.

1. Monitors the accuracy of QC Heads’ Task of correcting and rating the:
a. UbD stage 2
b. Enriched UbD of Stages 1, 2 & 3
c. Quarterly coverage of MLC per subject
d. Test Bank
e. Table of Specifications and Periodical Test Questions
f. Class Records
g. Grading Sheets
h. Work Performance (Daily Journal, OBPES Spreadsheet and Evidence
Folder)
i. Analysis of the Subject Grade Components

B. As the Administrative Head


B.1. Direct Functions
1. Formulates, Implements, monitors and assesses Annual Plan of the
current school year.
2. Conducts Training & Orientation for Faculty and Staff
3. Resolves the problems/issues within the Department
4. Checks the OBPES (Daily Journal, Spreadsheet & Evidence Folder) of the
Homeroom Advisers, QC Heads, Subject Teachers & Academic Staff.
6. Evaluates the Annual Performance of Faculty and Staff
7. Formulates proposal and implements one (1) Institutional Activity
8. Attends and supports in the PTA Activities
9. Conducts and submits Department-Wide Action Research
10. Complies with the ACSCU recommendations
11. Ensures that school policies, rules, instruction or directives from the
ManCom are fully implemented in the department.
