To our magnificent God, to our beloved principal, Mrs. Amy A.
Tupe, to our school president, Reverend
Jose O. Tupe, to our honored guest, DepEd education program supervisor Dr. Joel P. Feliciano, to our esteemed faculty, to our ever supportive parents and to the grade 10 class of 2018-2019, I am here to express my gratitude. Why do we say thank you? We say thank you to show how grateful we are. We say thank you when we receive a gift, or when we had a great time. I would like you to know that these words come from the deepest of my heart. 10 years ago, I was this five-year-old girl clutching to my grandmother because I was too scared to go to school. And today, I am a 15-year-old teenager, telling about my life in People of Grace Christian School. First and foremost, I want to thank our Lord, for making this day brighter and more special than other days. The past 10 years of my life have gone more quickly than I expected but it was the Lord who kept me going. He was the sun shining in my brightest hours and the moon shining through the darkness. There were times when the trials were bigger than me. No. There were times when I chose to be smaller than those trials but He always reminded me that He has so much in store for me, that there was a future that He planned. And I thank Him every day for giving me a purpose to look forward to. I am grateful for Mrs. Amy A Tupe, her husband, Pastor Joey Tupe, and the rest of People of Grace Christian School’s board members. Four years ago, I was given the blessing to continue studying here as a scholar. At that time, I was contemplating whether I should stay or try another environment. But that blessing was an obvious sign what the Lord has planned for me. Thank you for letting me continue to stay in this school, in my second home. I am grateful for the whole faculty, for all of my teachers since the first grade. Aside from all the basic and complex knowledge that I was required to learn, they taught me something bigger than that. They taught me that something was greater than knowledge, and that was the wisdom about God. In my elementary days, we had a subject called Bible Literature and in high school, there was Values. In those times we would read the Bible and discuss the lessons behind it. I always considered it as my favorite subject because it seemed close to my heart. Ever since I was in the first grade and up until now, we always reserved a time once a week where we just worship the Lord and take a break from our studies. You know what’s better than singing for God? Praising Him with your friends. Those are the things that I’m grateful for—not only the knowledge that I’ve acquired here but the spiritual development of my character. To my ever supportive parents, my family, thank you for staying with me and reminding me that knowledge does not come from myself but from God. In that way, I was able to live my life knowing that everything I have is from Him. They always reminded me that I can do better and I can be better through Christ who strengthens me. They told me that it’s not all about one’s knowledge but one’s character. I guess with that mindset, I became who I am today; and I am eternally grateful for it. And lastly to my classmates, the grade ten class of 2018-2019. Ten months ago, some of your faces were new but now they seem to have a place in my heart. We may be few but the memories are enough for me to bring along the way. You guys are the best; best in making me laugh and best in making me cry. With the ten months I’ve spent with you, I realized that people only see the value of something or someone, when it’s almost time to say goodbye. Each one of you is gifted and I know that one day, we’ll cross paths and I’ll be pleased with what you’ve achieved. One day, you’ll look back to the days when we were all pressured but still found happiness. I hope you’ll remember me as your classmate who laughs all the time, the one who jokes around, the one who gives you advice and especially the one who believes in you. Saying thank you is not enough for me to truly express my gratitude, so I will carry that gratitude along the way and tell myself that you all are the reason why I’ve become the person I am today and the person I will become tomorrow. Maraming Salamat po.
