ABSTRACT
Generally, this study aimed to fabricate a portable cold-water dispenser in which water does
not have a direct contact with iced water but contained in a copper tube around inside the
experimental water. This was conducted to determine (1) the temperature variation of water from the
experimental dispenser in 10-minute interval using iced brine solution; and (2) the coefficient of
performance of the device in producing cold water.
This study was conducted at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Room at Capiz State
University, Main Campus through the 2nd semester of school year 2017-2018.
Experimental method was employed by the researchers which is within the scope of true
experiment. The results show that the device produces considerable amount of cold water at different
levels of salt concentration. It also reflects that as the time increases, the temperature of water taken
from the experimental dispenser decreases as well as the temperature of brine solution and the
coefficient of performance of the device at trial 1 is 12.42, at trial 2 is 11.875 and at trial 3 is 11.75.
