Black screen then text fades in saying “What could be? A Liverpool F.C
Documentary.

“What could be…. This is Liverpool Football Club is one of the most famous
teams in the world... with 5 European Cups, 18 league titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 7 FA
Cups, 15 Community shields and a record of 8 League Cups.”

“They were founded in 1892 and joined the football league a year later but it
wasn’t until the 70’s and 80’s till they had major success. There were two main
managers that made this possible, Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley helped
Liverpool be the club they are today. With all great times there do come sad
times. Liverpool have sadly been involved in two major tragedies. One being
the Heysel Stadium Disaster where 39 people died due to being pressed
against a wall. English teams where given a five-year European ban due to this.
The other tragedy is the Hillsborough disaster, this is when 96 Liverpool fans
died due to being pressed against fencing. All the people that died in these
tragedies will never be forgotten.”

“now with this being a documentary about Liverpool it wouldn’t be right for
me to not talk about the home of Liverpool. Anfield. But I thought the best way
to talk about is to show you.”

“So let’s go”

“as you can see behind this is the home of Anfield and it didn’t always look like
this. In 2016 the main stand was improved and overall so was the outside too.
This helped make Anfield the fortress it is.”

“It’s seen so many big moments in its time and is renowned for its European
nights. The fans that go in there and sign their hearts out are like no others and
that’s why I think they’re the best. Gerrard against Olympiacos, Lovren against
Dortmund. This place is made for moments like that.”

“Now we’ve spoken a bit about the history of Liverpool and Anfield I want to
mainly focus on the last four years or as it can be seen ‘The Jurgen Klopp
reign’”
“To start with when we didn’t have a have manager there were few shortlisted
for the job but the main two were Ancelotti and Klopp, now in my eyes I could
only see when guy perfect for the role. Everything about him just suited
Liverpool and it seemed a dream made in heaven. Next thing you know Klopp
was announced as the manager”

“When he came in you could instantly tell there was something about him, he
used the phrase “we have to change doubters into believers” that showed us
what his goals were at Liverpool and how positive he was.”

“one thing that was clear when Klopp took over was that the Liverpool team at
the time really needed improving and was not a good side. If you were to look
at the starting line up in his first game compared to the team we have now it
shows you how far he has come with Liverpool.”

“Klopp’s first season in charge was a very weird seeing how we had the
excitement and feeling that something big was coming but we didn’t have the
squad that was able to deliver in these moments. One of the first signs of this
is when we played city and won 4-1.”

“What we didn’t see coming was the rivalry against city. This is something that
you will see gets more intense throughout the time with Klopp and is at its
peak right now.”

“he did manage to get us to two cup finals, one being the league cup and the
other being the Europa league, in the league cup final we came up against man
city and lost unluckily on penalties. While in the Europa League we went on a
crazy cup run going past Manchester Utd and Borussia Dortmund. In the end
we did end up losing to Sevilla FC, they were the much better team and we just
got outplayed. Overall Klopp’s first season was a major success and made
supporters believe more was to come in the future.”

“during Klopp’s second season he managed to buy a player called Sadio Mane
who turned out to be one of the signings of the season. He cost £34 million but
was worth every penny and we knew this when he scored that goal on the first
day of the season”

“It was quite a quiet season overall but we managed to get into champions,
well we made it to the qualifiers for the champions league. Top four was the
overall goal in that season as we needed to get back in the champions league.
As that is where we belong.”

“now after all of last season’s work we play Hoffenhim in a champions league
qualifier. Over the summer we’ve also made a few signings the likes of Mo
Salah from Roma for £37 million, Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal for £34
million and Robertson from Hull for £8 million. We hoped these signings would
help take us to the next level. So up came Hoffenhim and up stepped Trent
Alexander Arnold. A young Liverpool lad who had come through the ranks and
did he impress on his European debut! With the help of Trent we managed to
get through the qualifiers and were in the champions league. Were we
belonged.”

“During this season one of our best players and if not best player handed in a
transfer request and didn’t be at Liverpool anymore, we managed to keep him
in the summer but he faked an injury in a way not to play. In the end he did
end up playing but all the fans new really where his heart was. In the
champions’ league group stage, we got a relatively nice group as we knew we
could beat every team in it. We ended up winning the group with 12 points
and Sevilla came 2nd with 9 points.”

“The goal for this season was to get top 4 again as we need to be in the
champions league. But also, to go far in it and really compete for it. Now
comes one the biggest moments in Klopp’s reign at Liverpool… In January 2018
we signed a man called Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton. Now the reason we
had not been fighting for trophies before is due to how poor our defence had
been. We all thought that he would be a great player but we didn’t realise how
good he would really be!”

“In this season we managed to get to the champions league final which at the
beginning of the season no one would’ve expected! On the way to the final we
played Porto and were on a completely different level to them and then we
were drawn against Manchester City…. We knew this was not going to be easy
and we weren’t even the favourites. They came to anfield on a European night
and that is like no other. The crowed, the feeling is just so different for a
European game and we believe we can beat anyone…. And we can. We beat
City and Roma and then got Real Madrid in the final. It wasn’t meant to be as
we lost the final 3-1. Two mistakes from karius and a worldie from Bale meant
that trophy wasn’t ours.”
“we now get to this season. In the summer we made a few seasons to help
really take us to the next level and potentially go for the premier league. We
signed Alisson from Roma, Keita from RB Leipzig, Shaqiri from Stoke and
Fabinho from As Monaco. We really looked to improve where needed and
especially a gaolie after what happened in the champions league final.

“We started the season in amazing form and not losing a game in the league
but also qualifying in the champions league. When we reached the middle of
December it became obvious that it was a two-horse race. Liverpool V Man
City once again. Throughout this season there have been so many key
moments like when we scored a 96th minute goal against Everton and Sturridge
scoring away to Chelsea with minutes to go. The signs were there for Liverpool
to win the league as everything started going our way. Then we played city in
the league and lost 2-1 and we almost first in the game but the was millimetres
away from going in.”

“After this we drew Bayern Munich in the champions league and we got
passed them with ease. At one point in the league we were ten points clear
but a few draws and city were right back in it and even 1 point ahead. We had
to make sure after drawing those games we kept the pressure on and won the
rest of the games.”

“When looking at the remaining fixtures with 9 to play in the league the
hardest games looked like Southampton, Tottenham and then Chelsea. As we
knew it wouldn’t be easy to get a result to these kinds of teams.”

“To see what the feeling was and how Liverpool players would handle to
pressure I thought I’d go and watch them play Southampton and they didn’t
disappoint with a 3-1 and the scenes from the fans after were something
special and not to forget. There was a real feeling that Liverpool were going to
win this trophy.”

“Next came two of the biggest games of the season… Tottenham and Chelsea.
Two teams that would to be the ones to bring Liverpool and pretty much lose
them the league. But that didn’t happen… with a last-minute own goal against
Tottenham and thunder goal by Mo Salah Liverpool got passed them.”

“The champions league semi-final was coming close but first we had to make
sure we won against Cardiff and Huddersfield to keep the pressure on Man
City. We were able to win both with comfort 2-0 and 5-0. This meant with 2
games to go we had 91 points which is the highest we’ve ever had.”

“So next came one of our biggest games of the season… we were playing
Barcelona at the nou camp and up against one of the best if not the best
players of all time. In the game we were the better team but we weren’t
clinical enough and in the end, they took their chances and we didn’t. We lost
3-0 and it almost feels impossible for us to get through in the second leg.”

“After the bad result in Spain we travelled to Newcastle. A win is needed. We

cannot draw the game. The win will mean that it will go down to the last day of
the season and who knows what might happen then. That’s exactly what we
did... we won 3-2 with a last minute from divock origi. City did also win against
Leicester so I is defiantly going to the last day of the season. But next up was
mission impossible against Barcelona.”

“I spoke about Anfield nights before and how they are different to any other
game and that’s exactly what we needed. The crowd had to be amazing and
the result had to be perfect. 4-0 and we are through 3-3 and its extra time but
we can’t concede but we’re up against Messi so this was going to be one of the
hardest results and biggest comebacks of all time.”

“But this is Liverpool and this is Anfield. Nothing is impossible and we proved
that. With two goals from Origi and Wijnaldum and a moment of genius from
Trent Alexander – Arnold we got through and did the impossible….”

“Going into the last two games of the season we could win the champions
league and the premier league and this really does show how much Jurgen
Klopp has done for Liverpool and… What could be…”
