Lesson Outcomes

- Students will be able to put data into graphs.


- Students will be able to make estimations and write educated guesses.

Students have previous knowledge of graphs such as, tally charts, pie charts, bar graphs,
Piktochart’s.
Students know what estimation is and can estimate the number of things by looking at them.

Media literacy: I will use a PowerPoint to introduce the lesson.

Estimation station:

Tally station:

- Students will have A4 sheets with data of favourite fruit or animal on them.
- They will be asked to transfer the data into tally on the A3 sheet.
- There will be some A4 paper if the students want to do it individually.

Pie station:

- Students will have A4 pie charts, and a collection of animals.


- They will have to count the different types on animals and put them on the pie chart.
- They can use the same data to transfer it to tallies.
