Indonesia, which is rich in natural resources, is not a guarantee of creating a

prosperous and advanced society, independence is just an illusion, poverty is still

the homework of this nation that has not been resolved for a long time, the poor

performance of the government has borne the burden of the younger generation as

the next generation. Preservation of colonialism culture then makes this nation is

just a consumer, a nation of following.

It is undeniable that by becoming a consumer country we become 'rich' with a

variety of knowledge, information and high-tech products, coupled with the

increasing number of middle-class people who make Indonesia a big market.

However, it turns out we have not been able to become a prosperous and

independent nation, we are the third largest market for motorcycle products but

we still cannot produce it ourselves, as well as various other consumption

products.

It is time for us to move forward with the foundation of development, not just the

preservation of the old static culture, no longer seeing the opportunity of foreign

exchange workers. We must begin to rely on creative human resources, the young

generation who are future-oriented solutions.

Creativity if we know it very well, it could have great potential that can give a big

influence on various aspects of life that we live, the creative role of the young

generation as the next generation must be increased because they are one of the

strengths that can optimize the entire potential of the Indonesian nation.

In the era of globalization, we are required to be creative and innovative in various

fields. We must instill the spirit to compete with other countries in the world.

But before that, we need to know what creativity and innovation really mean.

To begin with, creativity and innovation are not synonymous; there is a clear and

important distinction between them. It is especially critical for businesses to

understand this distinction before instituting a new organization-wide innovation

imitative.

Before discussing this distinction, however, it is important to note that creativity is

a mental ability anyone is capable of, not just the artists among us. When most of

us think of creative individuals, we often point out a special talent such as the

ability to draw, paint, sculpt, write, play music, sing, dance, etc. Creativity is

much more than winning Mother Nature’s genetic lottery for artistic ability.

Creative potential exists in all of us.

Creativity is most often defined as the mental ability to conceptualize (imagine)

new, unusual or unique ideas, to see the new connection between seemingly

random or unrelated things.

Innovation, on the other hand, is defined as the process that transforms those

forward-looking new ideas into real world (commercial) products, services, or

processes of enhanced value. The result of such a transformation can be

incremental, evolutionary or radical in its impact on the status quo. In other

words, it can represent a natural step forward in a concept’s development, a leap

to the next generation of that concept, or a completely new and different way of

doing something altogether.

But the relationship between creativity and innovation, how they depend on and

work with each other, is critical to business success.

If we compare our country with other countries in the world regarding natural

resources, of course we are at the top. God entrusted the heaven of the world to a

land filled with extraordinary natural beauty.

Did you know that forests on Sumatra and Kalimantan are the most biodiverse

forests in the world and without that the earth will be destroyed? And there are

many more unique natural resources in our country.

These various pleasures, if used properly by us, can certainly help increase the

country's foreign exchange.

Who can we rely on to build this country 10-50 years if its not the youth

generation?
Then, what have we prepared as the future of the nation?

Through the education system, we are required to be independent, honest, criticsm

and active. However, the education system that Indonesia uses only relies on a

'remembering' system where we only need to memorize it has become a guarantee

of good grades and graduation standards.

Even though the purpose of education one of them is to create something new,

also solve problems that exist. However, the spirit inside us must burn, dont be

give up.

To realize an innovative and creative social, it must begin with ourselves. We

could start by influence our closest friends, family, and other people.

There are many things we can do to form a creative and innovative social.

As we know, the first Apple CEO, Steve Jobs is an influential figure for the

company. Every year, thanks to his leadership, this company can reap profits of

up to 34%. Based on the experience of success in the personal and organizational

life of Steve Jobs, Gallo C. (2011: 10) explained the seven principles of

innovation as follows: 1) Do something that we like; 2) Trying to establish

cooperation with people who have the same thoughts and views, and help to

realize ideas into innovations; 3) Always develop creativity by understanding

experience; 4) Creating products that can meet the expectations, dreams and

ambitions of consumers; 5) Creating products that are simple, easy to use but have

many functions; 6) Providing good service so that it carries positive impressions

and deep relationships with consumers; 7) Able to introduce new products / things
to consumers effectively so that they have the attention and enthusiasm for these

products.

By continuously developing our qualities, continuing to learn, and the unyielding

spirit for the sake of the nation and state, we can realize an active, creative,

innovative and smart social in various fields.

As our Mr. President, Jokowi said “the future of the Indonesian economy is in the
creative industry”.
