2. Write a rate law expression for the dependency of the rate of a reaction A C on the
concentrations of the reactants of A.
3. The rate of the reaction A + 2B 3C + D was reported as 1.0 mol L -1 s-1. State
the rates of formation and consumption of each species. The rate law for the reaction
found to be = k[A][B]2. What are the units of k? Express the rate law in terms of the
rates of formation and consumption of A and C.
4. If the rate laws are expressed with (a) concentrations in moles per litre, (b) pressures in
kilopascals, what are the units of the second-order and third-order rate constants?
4. The hydrolysis of CH3Br is the first order reaction which progress may be followed
chemically by titration of reaction mixture with AgNO 3. The volume of AgNO 3 required
for 10.0 cm3 samples at 300 K in a typical experiment are; (Q9,T1)
5. The following data refer to the decomposition of benzene diazonium chloride. At the start
of experiment, concentration of solution is 10d/dm 3 at 50 C.(Q10, T1)

9. Sulfuryl chloride, SO2Cl2 is highly reactive gas. The gas will decomposed when heated as
follows,
A sample of 6.75 g SO2Cl2 was put into 5.00 x 10-1 L of container and the temperature
was rise to 600 K.
a. Find the pressure in the container before the decomposition occurred.
b. The decomposition occurred in first order reaction and the data was tabulated in
following table. Determine:
i) the rate constant
ii) internal pressure after 20.0 hours
iii) The remaining sulfuryl chloride after 20.0 hours.
10. Cyclopropane isomerizes into propene when heated to 500C in the gas phase. The extent
of conversion for various initial pressures has been followed by gas chromatography by
allowing the reaction to proceed for a time with various initial pressures. Where p 0 is the
initial pressure and p is the final pressure of cyclopropane.
Find:
a) The order of reaction
b) The rate constant for the reaction under these conditions.
