– Please notice that an Application for the e-Learning course entitled; "Solar Powered
Irrigation Systems (SPIS)" is possible until/within 30th May 2019. The SPIS course will be on
18th Juni 2019 until 30th July 2019. –
Introduction
There is a growing interest in solar-powered irrigation applications around the world, apparent by the
increasing number of sales as well as requests for finance, installations and capacity development. The
application of Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) aims to increase and stabilize local farmer’s
productivity thereby improving their living conditions especially in developing countries or remote
rural areas. However, awareness of SPIS technologies and its adaptability to different farming systems,
size of irrigation schemes and cropping systems is lacking among agricultural consultants, extension
officers and responsible personnel in the relevant ministries and as well as in financing institutions
including Banks, NGOs and the international donor community.

Target group:
The target group are agricultural consultants in regions where no solar irrigation would be possible
without solar powered pumps. We are going to train them in order to familiarize the local farmers with
the possibilities of solar irrigation. If you are interested in SPIS, you are cordially welcome to join us
(such as farmer, banker, scholarly person, NGOs, institution of the government).
E-Tutors:
We have a couple of E-tutors that support the applicants in different regions of the world. We
considered to have localized and well-educated E-Tutors suit to every region. The E-Tutors work
voluntary.
