WIRING DIAGRAM MICROWAVE OVEN


INTERLOCK REPLACEMENT
AII switch es are mounted to a plastic latch body on the side
JE 1140/ JES 1142 of the cavity.
Always unplug the oyen and discharge capacitor before
service.

TO REPLACE AN INTERLOCK SWITCH


1. Unplug the oyen, discharge capacitor.
2. Disconnect leads from interlock switches.
3. Remove Interlock by spreading'spring tabs.
4. Install new latch switch(s)

MAGNETRON REMOVAL
1. Disconnect power and discharge capacitor.
2. Disconnect leads to magnetron.
3. Remove magnetron supporting Qracket secured by screw.
4. Remove a screw securing the magnetron to the wave
guide.

WHEN REPLACING THE MAGNETRON BE CERTAIN


MOUNTING SCREW IS TIGHTENED SECUREL y TO
WAVEGUIDE. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN RESUL T IN
HAZARDOUS LEVELS OF MICROWAVE LEAKAGE.
PERFORM MICROWAVE LEAKAGE TEST.

REPLACEMENT OF TURN TABLE MOTOR


1. Disconnect power and remove glass tray from cavity.
2. Turn oyen upside down and cut the motor cover tabs.
3. Disconnect wires from motor and remove 1 screw
securing motor to oyen cavity.
4. Mount motor in reverse order.
5. Mount motor cover with screw supplied.
CONTROL PERFORMANCE TEST
• Set Clock-Touch clock pad, enter time of day, touch clock
pad.
• Alternately Touch each function pad and enter time, or
code selection for function-also change power levels.
• Touch Clear-Off after each function test to clear that
function.
• Repeat procedure for each function to exercise each pad.
• Control and Display should respond to each entry.
• Display should revert to Time-Of-Day after each clear-Off.

Located on the top right side of oyen. The sensor is non-
resetable (212'F) when sensor opens determine cause.

MICROWAVE LEAKAGE TEST
A microwave leakage test must be performed any time a
door is removed, replaced disassembled, or adjusted for any
reason. THE MAXIMUM LEAKAGE IS 4 mW/cm2

DOOR
The door is serviced by individual parts. Complete doors are
not available.
TO DISASSEMBLE DOOR
1. Disconnect power and remove glass shelf.
2. Remove the gasket door from door plate.
3. Remove the door frame from door plate.
4. Remove the barrier screen outer from door frame
5. Remove the top hinge stopper from door plate.
6. Remove the spring and the hook

NOTE: Perform microwave leakage test.

MICROWAVE LEAKAGE TEST


PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED 1. Place 275ml. water in 600ml. beaker (WB64 X 5010)
2. Place beaker in center of oyen shelf.
BEFORE AND DURING SERVICING
3. Set meter to 2450 MHz scale.
TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE 4. Turn oyen "ON" for 5 minute test.

TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE 5. Hold probe perpendicular to surface being tested and


scan surfaces at rate of one inch/sec.

CAPACITOR AND DIODE REMOVAL


1. Disconnect power, remove outer case and discharge
capacitor.
2. Disconnect leads and diode from capacitor.
3. Remove the screw which secure the grounding ring terminal
of diode and capacitor holder.
4. Remove the capacitor holder with capacitor.
WARNING! When 20 Amp. fuse is blown due to operation of
monitor switch-both interlock switch es and the monitor SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM
switch must be replaced.
Then repeat test.

Al! switches are adjustable.

TO ADJUST DOOR SENSE SWITCH


1. Loosen the screw securing the plastic latch body. (Do not
remove)
2. Adjust the plastic latch position so that the switch wil! be
closed when the door is closed tightly.

monitor switch opens before the primary interlock switch
closes when the do6t"is-closed.
3. Tighten screw.

NOTE: Perform microwave leakage test when replacing or


adjusting interlock switches or brackets.
