ANNOUNCEMENT OF ONLINE COACHING CLASSES

FOR CS1, CM1, CS2, CM2, CB1 AND CB2 EXAMINATIONS

OF JUNE 2019 DIET

In the new curriculum starting from June 2019 examinations, the 9 Core Technical (CT) subjects will
be replaced with 7 Core theory papers and 4 practical examinations without compromising the total
examination hours. The four practical exams are computer based on R-statistical software and Excel
modelling. The pattern of mapping old and new subjects in terms of syllabus objectives have been
communicated earlier and is available under Examination tab>>>Education curriculum

Few new subjects cover more syllabus objectives in comparison with old syllabus, hence may require
enhanced effort and time to complete. In order to offer proper guidance and support to all student
members, the Institute of Actuaries of India designed an online coaching program for subjects CS1,
CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1 and CB2 by involving expert faculty members. A 3 days excel training will
also be part of the coaching program, however will be conducted in the class room of IAI office in
Mumbai in batches of 40 students each, on a first cum-first served basis, the registration of which
needs to be done separately. In respect of R-statistical software training, the IAI will come out with a
model to reach out to students in different locations.

The online coaching program will be in the form of recorded videos, where 3-4 videos will be made
available in the student’s login page on a weekly basis, starting from the next working day of the IAI
office after enrolment. In addition, the support and guidance from respective faculty members by way
of telephone and mails will also continue.

Number of sessions/ videos of each subject may range from 30 to 50, depending on the extent of new
syllabus to be covered, with an average duration of session 90 minutes; means, subjects closely
mapping to old syllabus, viz., CS1, CB1 and CB2 may have 30-36 videos, whereas other subjects may
go up to 50 videos covering important concepts, practical scenarios, applications, examination model
questions, examination tips and strategies.

The course fee for each of the subject shall be as under:

No partial/ full refunds are allowed for any reasons. Candidates may prefer to go for theory only in
respect of CM1 & CM2, however those who prefer Excel training should subscribe simultaneously.

Online registration of the coaching program would open from 12th March, 2019 at 6.00 PM. Students
can login to their account and complete the registration. Please find registration menu under “Online
coaching” in the login page. Videos will be available in the login page starting from 29th March,
2019. A student can subscribe to more than one subject.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:

a) For all subjects, coaching support will be based on recorded videos

b) 3-4 videos would be added in every week; those who are subscribing in later stages will have all videos till the
date of registration.
c) All posted videos will be available till the date of examination
d) Those who have availed equivalent subjects in CT level in the September 2018 examination diet will be given
50% discount in the above rates, for subject CM1, both CT1 & CT5 should have been subscribed earlier.
e) Excel training will be conducted in the class room, dates of which will be intimated to all subscribers by mid of
April, 2019
f) If Excel training is desired, it needs to be subscribed simultaneously with CM1 and/or CM2
g) The online registration will open on 12th March, 2019 at 6.00 PM.
h) Videos will be available from 29th March, 2019 at 6.00 PM.
i) Registration location in the “Online coaching” menu of in the student’s login page.
j) Candidates may avail telephone facility to clear doubts, take advice from the teacher; subject related queries by
mail will also be entertained.
