Introduction
Basically, transportation process refers to the any kind of processes that occurred in the transportation
environment. The processes are running while the modes of transport are moving from one place to another
place. Some definitions and perspectives of transportation process will be discussed in detail later in
content.
Content
The process of transportation determines the efficiency of moving products that includes the progress in
techniques and management principle to improve the moving load, delivery speed, service quality,
operation cost and the usage of facilities and energy saving. Transportation process helps to optimize the
existing production and distribution process based on the same resources through management techniques
for promoting the efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises. For transportation process required whole
production procedure from manufacturing to delivery to the final consumers and return. Transportation
process consists of process of moving and handling goods and materials, from the beginning to the end of
the production, sale process and waste disposal, to satisfy customers and add business competitiveness. It
has component of logistic system to smooth the transportation process. The closely linked components
between logistic system and transportation process are first, logistic services, information system and
infrastructure or resource.
Without well-developed transportation system, logistic could not bring its advantages into full play
and will have a problem in handling the transportation process. A good transportation system in logistic
could provide better logistic efficiency in term of transport process, reduce operation cost, and promote
services quality. The role of transportation in logistic is more complicated than carrying goods for the
proprietors. By means of well-handled transport system, goods could be sent to the right place at right time

and cost savings to the supply chain participants. By providing necessary time of information while the

planning have been redesigned and improvised so that social, economic, and environmental objectives are
a fundamental part of sustainable transportation planning rather than constraints or the focus of mitigation
efforts. This replaces both the process and the content of transportation planning and decision making.
Secondly, transport agencies are directly responsible for the social, economic, and environmental
performance of their systems. This shifts the incentive structure and further alters project design and
selection. As a result, priorities are moving toward less environmentally damaging modes and improved
such as vehicle technology by optimizing the use of existing capacity, location and design decisions that
support sustainability objectives. These modifications are performed so that policy commitments are in
place. Next, collaborative planning and incentives support action. After that, funding is given for excellence
projects and well-organized implementation. There is a sense of authentic value being added to this new
strategy. Significant advances in sustainability will require ongoing efforts, with monitoring, evaluation,
